Yolos Meet & Greet

Hey all!

I think I have decided to do a Meet & Greet at Yolos the night before the wedding.  My parents are paying for the Reception the night of the wedding, so I do not want them paying for the M&G.  FI and I also do not have the additional $ to pay for the M&G.  FIL's have not offered to pay for anything thus far...... :/

I'm hoping to just throw out an informal invite to guests stating that if they want to stop by Yolo's to mingle with everyone, they are more than welcome!

My questions to you ladies---did you/family foot the bill for the M&G and how far in advance do I need to book the restaurant (Yolos)?

Thanks for all the advice :)

I can't answer the question about Yolos, but I can say that we paid for everything.  Our thoughts were 1) our guests were spending enough money in choosing to be with us, we did not want to make them pay for drinks or food and 2) if we had a wedding at home we would be paying for the rehearsal dinner anyway.

We booked Yolos 3 months in advance, and FI parents paid for the meet and greet there. It was perfect, we had about 30 people and ordered off of their group menu. His parents paid for the food and non-alcoholic drinks, and then if guests wanted alcohol they could walk right over to the bar. Worked out perfectly!

Yolos will only let you book within 3 months of the event. They will charge you 25% of the total estimated bill including drinks when you book. They also require final numbers 10 days before, so if you have a large group it may involve more organisation than you think...

If your thinking of just hanging out at the bar area it isn't very big and there aren't many litle tables you could gather up together either. Because the 2 walkways into the resturant lead you to the bar first so you couldn't really pull them together.
