Looking for past Mandalay brides who purchased extra Cashman photos!

I have been reading about how outrageous the prices can be to purchase extra prints and rights to your photos with Cashman.  We were thinking about doing the extra hour of photography but that only includes 20 prints which I don't feel is enough and probably very hard to narrow down.  So we are also trying to decide if its worth it to move up to the 2 hour upgrade because there is so many more prints included.  How much did you pay for your extra photos?  How much was it to buy the rights to your photos and did you buy them?

  • The rights to the photos, meaning the CD/DVD with all the images for you to print on your own, will likely be upwards of $800 to $1200

Married in Vegas - June 2011

  • You're likely better off booking your own photog - they'll give you the digital rights and you'll get a ton more pictures.

You could book Todd from Bently & Wilson for 2 hours for $348:

I'm a Mike L bride, if you have a little more time and want a full photo tour:

  • It's a lot!
We only had the Cashman photographer for 20 minutes or so and he shot I think it was 117 pictures.

    4X6s start at $10, 5X7s $12 etc...if you do individual pictures

but they really try and sell you on the "complete collection" which is the only way to get the rights to the photos from what I understood.  The day after the wedding they said the special deal they'd give us for the complete collection was $2700. Yeah for 117 pictures I don't think so.

I really hated going in the there the day after the wedding. The woman in the office was really pushy and trying to sell you everything from the picture books to frames to cds. I just took the 10 I got with the package and got out of there.

Todd isn't available on my day!  So does anyone know of any other photographers in the same price range as Todd?

Wow! That is crazy.... I think I am going to look into a outside photographer for after the ceremony.
  • I don't really know alot about pictures..so this might be a stupid question, but can you reproduce the prints that Cashman gives you? For example, if you get 20 prints, can you take them to Walmart (or somewhere similar? and ask them to make you an extra copy of that picture?

I am not sure!?  I don't think you are supposed to copy photos though. That's why you buy the rights to print however many you want.  I think it happens all the time where people just take a photo to Walmart and get it printed though.

I'm not sure if they would even let you make copies, I know at Walgreens they rejected prints that I wanted because they assumed they were professional studio pics [we actually just staged my living room with a back drop and props for a photo shoot of my baby].  They asked me to have a form signed by the studio releasing the rights to the pictures.  You never know though, they might just do it!!  You could always just scan them and print them at home too [I know, I know..this is against the rules too!]
