Airbrushing vs. Normal Make Up

Ladies,

I'm trying to find a makeup artist at the moment and have read lost of things (good and bad!) about having airbrushed makeup.

What does everyone think? Is it better than having make up done normally? If you've had it were you happy with the results?

I'm going with airbrushing.  Anywhere you read, you're going to find pros and cons of both.  I really think it's a personal preference.  If you have it in your budget, you could always do a trial run with the airbrushing to see if you like it.

I have seen both and honestly can not tell a difference in person or the photos. But it is fun to be pampered and do something different, so go with it if you have your heart set on it! I'm sure either way it will look great.

I'll probably pick airbrush make-up because I've read that it lasts really long. I haven't had a direct experience though, so if you get a trial let us know!

Hmm.. well I know there's both pros and cons to it. This entirely depends on what kind of skin you have. With any kind of make up, if your skin is oily/blemished, etc it wouldn't always work. I opt for traditional make up, because my skin is very sensitive and blemished at times. Airbrush wouldn't really do me any magic, that traditional make up can't do. They really do look the same when you look at pictures. If it is in your budget and it's your preference then go for it. Airbrush isn't always more expensive though. It depends on the MUA doing it, whether they're good or not. I'm still paying $175 for traditional make up and hair.

I had airbrush makeup and felt it lasted a lot longer in the heat. I normall use high end foundations, but have never had any last as long as the airbrush especially in hot weather.

I'm going with regular make-up.  I wanted airbrushing but when I looked into it they said if you cry or have other issues they can't fix it very well.  This is what I was told but I can't be for sure.  I just decided that I've never really had a problem with my skin and I'm sure they set the regulat make-up anyhow.  I would say to pick a MUA that you like and go with what they reccommend.

Totally agree with this. i have used a lot of make up artists and its really about the artist not the makeup. Airbrush is not good if you sweat and cry.

I had airbrush for my e-pics and as a trial.  I thought I looked "made-up" close up (maybe because I rarely use makeup).  In the pictures, however, I looked fabulous.  Best pictures ever taken of me in my life, but none were close-up.  I took some close-ups of myself, and I did notice that the airbrush accentuated my fine lines and forehead crease (ran out and botoxed that crease just for the wedding pics).  Don't think it was the best choice for my dryish skin with fine lines.

For my wedding I chose traditional makeup.  I felt more comfortable and naturall with it.  Also, there were lots of close-up shots, and I didn't want to look heavily made-up.  The only thing, I shoud have taken a powder compact with me to dal with slight shiny areas after being out in the 115 degreee heat.

Had airbrush and felt like it lasted pretty much all night.  We danced like crazy!   Pictures in bio.
