Vegas 12.12.12.. I'm new here show me the ropes

Hello Everyone.. Just got engaged on Saturday and decided to have our wedding in Vegas on 12.12.12. followed by our reception in NJ a few months later.
I posted earlier but thought I should at least introduce myself and ask how this site works.

I love that I can speak to other brides and grooms and get first hand help. To me, that is the best way.

I wanted to get married in the Grand Canyon as it has great sentiment for us but thought maybe to go there for our honeymoon...and have the vows in vegas since some of our family and friends may attend.

We would like to have it affordable yet decent and memorable and something that our family/friends will really enjoy too since they are flying out.

Not sure if we should do it in a hotel or any special unique place.. I'm so new at this and SO VERY CLUELESS...

I really appreciate any help, tips, suggestions, dos and donts.. anything..
your fellow excited bride.

Welcome to the Vegas board! The knotties on here are so kind and helpful, you have come to a great place!

If you read the bios in people's signatures, several have very good suggestions about various venues and vendors. There is also a "sticky" at the top which links to the various vendor reviews that people have posted.

I haven't made our bio yet, but we are doing the ceremony at Chapel of the Flowers and an in suite reception at Aria. We chose COF for the reason that we wanted an intimate place for the ceremony where our family and close friends could attend. The in suite reception is a nice, affordable, option for a celebration afterwards.

Hope that helps some and welcome again!

Congrats and welcome!  I agree with PP - the best way to start is to read the bios of past and current brides/grooms to get a feel for the different locations and options available to you (it's endless, really).  I'm getting married at COF as well. :)

Since I had the time, I also scanned through several pages of posts to find ones that sparked my interests.  You can always search through posts with the search feature if you're looking for something specific, like photographers.

You can always post a question if you need help or suggestions.  Congrats again on your engagement and happy planning!

First off, CONGRATS! I bet you are super excited, its a really great experience planning your wedding. I actually moved to Cali from NJ 7months ago and my wedding is in Vegas =)

You can check out the Chapel of the Flowers for the Grand Canyon and Vegas wedding. they have a special package for that and they are GREATTTT to work with and have everything you need.

Hope you enjoy the next couple of months!

Congratulations and welcome! People on this board are great and very helpful.

BTW, I was a COF bride and we had a wonderful experience. Remember 12-12-12 will probably be a popular date, so don't wait too long to book a place.

    Happy planning!
