DJ recos?

Ladies,
I don't know where to start with my search for DJs.  I went to The Knot's list and emailed a handful of them (of which only one responded).  Anyway, please post your thoughts on your DJs or point me in the direction of your reviews.  Just looking at the sites isn't helping me see who is actually good or prompt and professional.

I used Dj Calvin or his club name is Dj Godzilla lol.. He charges 65 an hour I think or charges a flat rate of $200 unlimited. I went with the flat fee. He kept the party going and if it wasn't for the fact that the resturant had to close we probably would have kept dancing all night long. He's real nice and friendly we actually still keep in contact.

We have not had our wedding yet, but we met him in person and really liked him. He also has his entire music library online to help you choose songs.

Thanks, guys!  I am supremely irritated at the DJ's that didn't respond to my request for more information.  I mean, seriously, is the economy THAT good that you can turn down work?

I had that problem just with a couple of venues I originally wanted to check out.  It makes no sense that so many places are hurting for business and then they don't even bother replying.

I don't need a poem or artwork or anything.

We used Knight Sounds because they were MBs preferred vendor.  We couldn't have been happier.  Our DJ (if only I could remember his name) checked in with us throughout cocktail our and dinner to make sure we were happy with the music.  Once everyone hit the dance floor, he quicly figured out what kind of music  the crowd liked best and kept it coming.  We ended up extending our reception an hour because people were having so much fun on the dance floor.

We are using all night long. If you send me your email I can forward the  email that they sent me. What I liked about them is they got back to me quickly and even though I was being lazy and didn't respond for like a month, they didn't bug me. I think they said their regular rate is $750. I am getting a "discount" since they are Maggianos preferred vendor, but I know that they offered $100 off their regular rate for a special that they had.

All Night Long has been fantastic so far. The other DJs wanted to talk and "explain" their offerings. One dude kept FI on the phone for AN HOUR. FI said about 12 words this whole time. It was awful. And then he finally e-mailed us prices, and it was $1500!! All Night Long offered us about half that amount right away, no long phone calls, and have been efficient and extremely responsive. They are exactly what I was looking for- simple.

Thanks everyone!  I just got off the phone with Tiffany from DJaysEntertainment and she was pretty cool.  She also quoted me a great price and followed up with more info.

I will check out the other recos too.  Doesn't anyone know a piano man, though???!!!
