dinner reservations when don't know how many guests???

I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out how to make reservations when I really have no idea how many people will come to the wedding.  It could be 10-12 or it could be 22-24.I'd like to do the after ceremony dinner at Rum Jungle in MB and have spoken to group dining but she confused me more than helped me on the phone, so I need to email her to ask more questions.  She said there is a contract if you have over 17 guests, but wasn't clear what happened if less show up! Has anyone had experience with this?  Do you just reserve more spaces and then if less show up - so be it?

If less show up, you are obligated to pay for the amount of people you said will. So if the min is 17 and you only have 12... you still pay for those extra 5 or for the  dollar amount budgeted as your min. You will generally be given space for the amount of people you say will be there.. if more show up, they will try to accommodate but are not contracturaly(sp) obligated. That's why you sign a contract.. it ensures that the space is not wasted.. why should they give you a space for 24 people.. only 10 show up then they lose money on the extra 14 seats.. you should really get confirmation on a head count so you don't get stuck for the extra money.  good luck
