Mandalay Girls

I am barely 2 weeks away from my wedding and having a huge issue with mandalay- i absolutely cannot get in contact with out officiant. I have been trying for a month, including calling 5x the last 2 days alone--during time periods he suggested for availability! I want to request VERY simple changes to his basic ceremony from what I have seen online- namely repeating the actual vows vs just saying I Do afterward. Did you officiant EVER meet with you to discuss ceremony? Even just for 5 min right before the ceremony to learn name pronunciation? My Fi's last name is a bit hard to pronounce and he will likely need it explained...it will NOT be cool if he pronounces it wrong. Just wanting to hear your experiences on any contact. I am about to email my coordinator about this AGAIN and suggest a possibly new officiant or something, because this is abosultely ridiculous.

I think they meet with you before the ceremony

I'll be meeting with mine at our rehearsal the day before and I was told that the officiant meets with us during that half hour time period before the actual ceremony. I would call the wedding area of the Mandalay and get someone on the phone and explain your concerns.

    What officiant are you using?

I am so sorry.  Although I did not get married by the officiant from MB because we got married in the suite.  But the officiant that we did booked meet with us both and our party about half an hour before.  I think that is the norm.  Good luck.

Can you explain how much you discussed in the 30 min prior to ceremony? Would it be enough warning for him to change the vows part? That is the main portion I worry about with such short notice.

Have you told our wedding coordinator that you're having trouble connecting?  Maybe she could help.  Is you officiant the bearded guy?

That was the first thing we went over was the vows.  I liked the wording so need to change anything.  But it would have been enough time if I had i think.  Just make sure you have all of the changes before hand.

Thank you SO much for your responses. I think I was moments away from my first bridezilla moment. Stress has definitely set in. Glad to hear that they do meet with you. I have been in contact with my WC- she is the one who keeps urging him to contact me. I think I will send her one more email about it though. I feel like my WC and entire planning process with MB has been so great that to have the ceremony- the most important part- be so hard to hear word on is killing me! To the people who asked...I would rather not say who I have been working with as officiant until after, just to make sure this all goes over smoothly (I have heard that MB coordinators are known to surf this board). Also- I watch the videos but never know who the officiants are; I think it would be nice if they included their names because I don't even know that I am watching the right person.
