UK (or other country brides) - did anyone buy a US Sim Card for their mobile?

Hello,Im thinking ill probably have to make/receive quite a few calls while in Vegas and wondering the best way to do it. My phone company will charge me about a £1 a min i receive calls - so im thinking of buying a US Sim card so its free to receive calls and just using that numberAny of you done the same? Any tips would be great

We were thinking about buying a pay as you go sim card when we arrive and letting our vendors know the new number when we arrive. Would be much cheaper Maybe Locals would be able to let us know best place to but pre-pay sims/phones?

I'm from Canada and I was wondering the same thing.  I wasn't sure where to buy a sim card.

I don't know if this will help due to mobility reasons....but why not just give your vendors your hotel room phone number. I'm sure they're all local and I don't think hotels charge for local calls (I could be wrong). But like I said I don't know if that'll help, it might be easier to have a cell phone on you. Just an idea though.

Some hotels (if not all) will charge you for a local calls - even toll free 800 calls. Just ask your WC. We're staying at PH & since they have a "resort" charge, all our phone calls are free.
