When to book florist, makeup/hair and transportation?

How far ahead did everyone book these 3 things? We're getting married in May 2010 and I'm not sure how much longer I can put them off.

I booked everything a year out! I'm happy with my choices but i do wish i'd researched a bit more before making a decision, so make sure you definitely know who you want then book them :)

I have only just booked hair/makeup and transportation for our October wedding. Our flowers are through the chapel.I wasn't originally planning on having someone to do my hair and makeup, which is why this has only just booked, otherwise I probably would have done this sooner. With the transportation, I suppose it depends what kind of vehicle you need and how many of them are about. If it's a normal 8 seater stretch limo, you could get away with leaving that til quite late as most vendors are comparable price-wise. However, with the kind of bus we've gone for, there are only a couple around so as soon as we found what we wanted, we booked it

One thing- this may or may not be of help, but the couple of transport companies we spoke to don't take a deposit at time of booking. They take your card details as security but don't charge anything until either a couple of days before or the day of. Just thought I'd let you know incase you were holding off because of paying depositsAlso, Glamsquad deposit is $25

We didn't use a florist or transportation so can't help with that. I booked H&M (bellabrides) with 4 days to go!!!   You'll be able to find something available, unless you've got your heart set on using a specific company (or specific budget) Call and inquire about when they need to book by and if your date is available.

We're also getting married in May but not booking anything till Nov. FI thinks we should do it now (since I change my mind everyday) but I don't have final #'s for transportation yet.

We're getting married in December..... Floral: Came with my wedding package. All I had to do was pick out the flowers that I wanted, which technically wasn't due until a month before the wedding, but did it months ago. Transportation: We just booked our Vegas Strip Tour with limo buses about two weeks ago. Hair/Make-up: Originally was going to just stick with the hotel salon (was included in our wedding package), but am now looking to book with one of the artists recommended on here by other Knotties. I'm hoping to have this done by the end of the week. I think if you're doing outside floral you may want to start looking into to it earlier.....but limos I think you'll be fine with (tons of limo companies in Vegas) and hair/make-up seems like it would be easy too.

Yeah I think we just need floral for our reception venue (Maggiano's). Our pkg at Caesar's includes a simple bouquet for me and a bout for him but I'll definitely want to upgrade my bouquet. I'll also need to get 3 bridesmaid bouquets, corsages for my mom/MIL, and bouts for my dad/FIL. I think I want the groomsmen just to have pocket squares to save on floral costs. It's a $200 fee to get outside floral, so I'm hoping Caesar's has some really good florists! Flowers are a big thing for me.For transportation, I want to do a strip tour, but I'm not sure if I'm suppose to bring the bridal party along as well? Or just me and FI and photographer.I really like the idea of going out to Lake Las Vegas too but I'm not sure if we'll have enough time (ceremony is at 1:30 and reception starts at 6).The logistics scare me!!

If you want pics of you and bridal party along the strip you should bring them. Or you could always bring them along just to have them there too :)

I'm getting married in May too! The only things I've done for the wedding is book anything that required a contract. Basically venue, reception, photographer, and makeup. I figured I can do the rest after my trip down in December. It's been a big relief to get them out of the way. Good luck with all your planing!

I am a May bride too and feeling a little lost. Since I live in Boston, I am not close to choose things and all of my friends that are getting married here are so concerned that I haven't done anything (except for booking MB and Fleur de Lys). But, I guess that's one of the reasons I love Vegas...less of a hassle! I am hoping to book hair and makeup soon...I think that is my hardest decision!!! All of you girls have given such good reviews it's hard to pick one!!

I'm from Philadelphia and I know how you feel. But honestly the reviews that are on here and the suggestions from these girls make me feel 100% confident in al the choices I make.

Getting married in April and will be contacting the florist next month prior to my site visit in October. Hair/makeup and transportation I am putting off until after my visit in October. The Knot checklist has good references when you are supposed to do certain items.
