For those who had Cashman photos...

Hello! My husband and I were married at Mandalay Bay in December 2008. We had Cashman do photos during and immediately after the ceromony. The day after the wedding we met with their salesperson and bought a few items. However, we did not buy the CD with copyrights because I had previously read that it could be purchased later for less than they would charge the day after the wedding. For those of you who ended up buying the CD with copyrights, would you mind sharing how much you paid for it, either the amount or as compared to the original price they offered? I would like to buy the copyrights so that I can make albums for our parents, since neither set of parents ended up buying any pictures online after the wedding. Thanks for your help!

Hey!We didn't buy the CD as our package came with a 5x7 of every photo they took, so i just ordered extra enlargements of what we wanted. They offered us a package which is the CD, two 8x10 prints, an 11x14 watercolour or canvas print and a 24x36 canvas print which they said was $5454.73 but we could have it for $4577.46She said she would hold it but I am not sure how long for, we got married on the 1st of May this year, I have about a month to go until I get my photos xx

I thought I had read somewhere that the cd of pictures with copyright started at $2000.

Is that "normal" pricing for photographers? That just seems like a huge amount of money for a cd of photos that was probably on taken during an hour's worth of time.  We have Cashman as part of our wedding package and they're taking photos during the ceremony and immediately after as well....I believe we're getting either 12 or 24 photos as part of the package. My goodness....I'm glad FI and I booked at outside photog for the rest of the evening to take photos....I can only imagine how much it would have been for Cashman to extend their hours, plus get rights to the cd.

Typically the CD rights from Cashman start around $10 per picture, so the amount will depend on how many pictures are actually taken. I've heard that some chapels do offer discounts 6 months or so afterwards, but I don't know how much they are willing to come off the price.
