Trash the Dress photos

A photographer brought up the idea to me and I'm considering it. I haven't even cleaned or preserved my dress yet (and it's about 11 months since I got married)! hahaha! Thought on this? A waste of time/money or not?

I personally LOVE Trash the Dress photos. Im not sure if I will personally do it though..... I would hate to actually mess up my dress! haha!A friend recently got back in hers (a year later) and did a TTD session, her photos came out AMAZING. I would definitely look at the photographers previous exp with it though, some don't do such a great job.

I'm going to do a TTD shoot in November and CAN'T wait!!! I just love the photos from other brides...my photog and I have been discussing ideas and such. A majority of our ideas don't really entail fully "trashing" the dress...but it will indeeeeeeeed get dirty! Lol! I say go for it!

I would def. do it. They're really fun and if you have a good photographer than can turn out amazing. I'm thinking of doing it next time we go to Vegas....probably next year sometime. I don't have the money (and we don't really have the time) to do it when we're out for the wedding. But I'd really like to get it done.

What I want to know is, if you get married in Vegas, is it weird to do your TTD photos somewhere else? My guy and I have a few places that are close to our hearts and I would love to incorporate one of those places as well...

I don't mean to discourage you, but I wouldn't personally do it. I never really understood them (right along with bridal portraits and wearing a big ball gown to an AHR). I know that you're never going to wear it again, and I don't doubt that it would be fun, but I don't see the point of getting dressed up in your wedding clothes for pictures on any day other than your wedding. On a positive note, most of the TTD pictures I've seen have looked really great. If you decide to go for it, please post pictures.

My dress is also still hanging uncleaned in my closet. I'd love to do a shoot like this but likely won't, I'd have to fit back into the damn thing.  LOL    7 more weeks until my body is mine again.  :) PP who asked about the shoot not being in Vegas, there's nothing wrong with that! I've seen couples do it on their honeymoons in the oceans when they were married in Ohio.     Do it where you like.

Honestly...my wedding dress has a very long train and I'm not sure how I'd be able to lug it around again for a TTD session. I may just buy a lighter dress that I won't feel so bad getting dirty in. Thanks for the feedback ya'll!!

I think I am going to do this after my wedding. I am using Shaw Productions in Las Vegas. They do amazing shots plus they video tape the session. I am not really going to trash it but I know it will get dirty, I just want more relaxed photos after the wedding. I might do it on our first annivesary (and hope my dress will still fit me)
