Past MB In-Suite Brides...

Hi Ladies, Just a quick question for past MB in-suite brides (or anyone that can offer advice). Previously I posted about going with the in-suite reception package that MB offers. After being quoted nearly $200 for 30 soft drinks I decided that maybe I should look in to outside catering. Has anyone ever had trouble getting food up to the suite? That is my #1 worry. Also, I am able to book the suite now through my WC. Is that the way you booked or did you wait until it became available online? I'm only going to book the MB suite for one night since we'll be booking our room elsewhere for the rest of our stay. Thanks

Hi, From what I have read in this community there should be no problem getting food to your MB Suite. I spoke to both Masterpiece Cuisine and Creative Catering and they both say that MB is never a problem. Congrats and good luck!

I'm not getting married til November, but when I spoke with Masterpiece Cuisine they stated they never had an issue bringing food to the suite. I booked my suite through my WC bc when I tried to book online there were none available. Somehow my WC was able to get me the room when the hotel couldn't.

Hyunniebun, Did you mention to your WC that you were having something in the suite? I'm a little concerned because we have already been booked for the in-suite package that they offer. We haven't paid the deposit though...

Just tell your WC you had a change of reception plans, You still want the room but won't be doing the in suite catering package. Given the time until your wedding I don't think any of the employees will really remember what you mentioned to your WC.I know at MGM my WC really only deals with anything ceremony related. She booked our rooms because we get the discount for having our wedding there, but all the catering info I got was direct from the department she referred me to. Also using Masterpiece for our in-suite.

I used the Vista for my reception. I booked through the WC. It was very easy to just let her take care of it. We had Masterpiece Cuisine bring in the food- it was no problem at all. My FI and I brought in our own drinks. We had the bell hop help us. As long as you tip them they are glad to help. Also- When we checked in I told registration that we needed another mini frigde in the room and tipped him $10. The fridge was up there in 15 minutes!

FI and I had a huge arguement about this last night. He seems to think we should stick with the MB package and I think we should try to save money where we can. This being one of the ways to possibly save some money. He is stuck on having everything come from one place and not have to worry about anything. I agree with that part I just can't get over the fact that I was quoted nearly $200 for thirty soft drinks and was told that I couldn't buy my own. It made me stop to wonder how much the food is really costing us.Basically its just a buffet set up for 20-30 people:- One small platter (Antipasto Display)- Carving meat (Peppercorn Beef Tenderloin)- Garden salad w/ dressings- Mashed potatoes- Assortment of baked breads and miniature rolls- 2 tier cakeThe package also includes a two hour unlimited bar (domestic beer and house wine)- I just needed to vent. I'm sitting at work and this is all I can think about right now. It's stressing me out. It's driving me a little crazy. I just wish someone on here had opted for this package so they could share their thoughts about it. So far... no luck.:o)

i'm in the same situation  i going to start calling outside caterers.  i just think that they are asking for a bit much and not giving enough.  hope it turns out well for you.

I told my WC I was having an in-suite reception and she recommended the Vista Suite and provided me the packages through the chapel and through the hotel itself. After trying to see how much it would cost through the chapel and the hotel, we went with MC and are saving a lot of money. My FI was the same way. He didn't want to deal with the hassle of trying to get everything organized and worry if things went wrong if we had a lot of different vendors. I took it upon myself to contact the outside vendors and showed him the price difference and then he agreed after he saw how much we were being overcharged.

I am going to use an outside vendor, at first I was not going to because I thought it would be more convient, until I saw the price difference! You can get so much more, and actually better variety too! IMO:)
