I'm married!! (with reviews)

Greetings from Vegas!! I tied the knot yesterday at Caesar's Palace! Had an amazing day and a truly awesome week so far! I'll be working on my married Bio when we get back from Barbados in a couple of weeks, but here's my reviews while everything is still fresh in my mind. Caesar's Palace hotel, A: Managed to get a fabulous room with a direct view of the Bellagio fountains. Joanie at the front desk spent 20 minutes re-arranging a very full hotel (big convention in town) to get us somewhere nice. She then sent up a gift to the room for us. First class service with a smile from everyone all week and the guys at the Belldesk have done so much to help us! Caesar's Palace Wedding Chapels, A+: Shani has been great to work with. She always answered my emails within a few days and seemed to go to great lengths to make sure she was getting the details absolutely right for me. We had the Roman package wedding at the Classico chapel and it went so well (in fact, here's a link to the webcast if you fancy a peek http://www.caesarspalace.com/weddings/caesars-palace/clv-live-weddings.html . Just enter "LOUGH-HEWITT" as the wedding name to view online for the next 4 days). I loved my flowers. They were exactly what I wanted and patched my toe nails perfectly!! Lol. Fit for a Bride, C: I was a bit disappointed with Fit for a Bride. I brought my dress from the UK in a large suitcase which was checked into the hold of the plane. I had made arrangements and payment via email with Debi for full pick up and deliver from/to my room to steam the dress. They got the details mixed up and in the end it was picked up and delivered via the Bell desk (which normally costs $30 less than what I had pre-paid). When the dress came back, the skirt looked great, but the bodice looked as if it hadn't been touched! It had been a bit crushed and creased in the suitcase, and this was still very evident in the rouching. I know no-one else would really have noticed the bits that were missed other than me, but I was disappointed that it didn't look as good and crisp as it should have. I had planned to have Fit for a Bride dry-clean ($125 approx) and ship my dress back to the UK ($250 approx) in time for my AHR in 3 weeks time, but have changed my mind now. I'm going to take it to Barbados on honeymoon and have it cleaned there. Once back in the UK, I'll have it steamed (and the bustle repaired - small accident at 4am in the Casino last night!) at the dress shop where I bought it. G-Suite at the Palms, A+++: This Suite is amazing!! Everyone was blown away by it! You can see the back of the entire strip from MB to the Stratoshpere from the main room. The pool table went down a treat (turned out some of the girls were pretty good players!) as did the stripper pole in the shower (we had pole dancing lessons on the Bachelorette party). We left a polaroid camera and film next to it and have an Adesso album full of great pictures now. All our friends pretty much said it was the best wedding venue they've ever been at. There was seating for 30 in the main room, seating for 3 in the hallway and more places to sit and chill in the bedrooms as well as 3 toilets. Definitely the perfect size for 40 people - even 60 wouldn't be too many. Co-ordintator at the Palms, A+++: Kerstin was amazing! She was by far the nicest vendor when it came to arranging things by email. I keep joking with Andy that she must be smitten with him as she sends him (and me) such cute and funny emails! There were a lot of different aspects to our reception and Kerstin reassured us time and again that it would all go smoothly - which it did. Food and Drink by the Palms, A: We had a 2 hour food and bar package with the Palms. In the main room of the G-Suite, we had a bartender and a butler. The bartender, Andre, was really sweet and chatty. He mixed me weak Gin and Tonics (I hadn't really eaten, so didn't want to get wasted) and made sure I, and all the guests, always had a drink in our hands. The butler made sure I had one of each the canapes and a taste of all the dishes even though I wasn't hungry saying it was a shame when the bride misses out! There were chef stations set up in the second bedroom serving New York Strip and Seared Ahi Tuna with salad, bread rolls and a Mashed Potato Martini Bar (my favourite of all the food). It worked well and everyone seemed to enjoy it! The bartender left us with a load of mixers, glasses, straws, stirrer's and napkins for our after party (even though officially, we weren't supposed to bring our own booze!)Security at the Palms, A: We had a crisis. A big crisis! I didn't find out about it until it was all nearly over as friends didn't want to spoil my day. We had arranged to have a cot and a crib put into the connecting room of the suite so that our young guests, aged 11 months and 4 years, could crash out if need be. While the 4 year old was in there sleeping, the room door to the hallway was bolted from the inside for safety. Someone then accidentally closed the connecting door essentially locking the child in. Security stayed with and did their best to reassure the very, very distressed and agitated parents while waiting for an engineer to come and break down the door. Fortunately, the little girl was absolutely fine and has no idea of how worried everyone was about her. Absolute Beverage, B: We booked to have a bartender serve beers, wines and spirits that we provided from 9pm to 1am. Arranging payment was messy because of the currency exchange and we ended up having to get an International Money Order at a bad rate because they couldn't take credit card or paypal etc. Our bartender arrived on time and was personable and great at mixing drinks. She didn't seem to collect any empty glasses though and a couple of guests ended up doing this. Travis Allen, A+++: We kept Travis's performance a secret from everybody. Our guests loved him! He brought his own PA, played 7 songs and posed for pictures. This guy seriously looks like young Elvis! My sister was upset that he wasn't a stripper too! There was a bit of a mix up about the payment. He hadn't realised that we'd paid by Paypal in advance, and had been expecting to recieve the balance. It was quickly sorted out with his manager, and he was so apologetic and sweet about it!! Ron Miller, A++++: Ron is an amazing photographer!! We booked an 8 hour package with him and was so much fun to work with! He somehow managed to be always there to get a good shot without being intrusive in any way! We had only 90 minutes to take shots on the Strip and decided to have just a few stops, but make the most of the locations we chose. We let him make 90% of the decisions on where to go and from what he showed us on his camera, we were definitely right to trust him! At the reception, he mingled with everyone and joined in the fun while getting all the shots he needed. Really can't wait to see the teasers on his blog in a few days!! Girls, if you haven't picked a photographer yet, seriously, book Ron!!A1 Worldwide Limo, C+: Great limo, great driver and very easy to book. Unfortunately they were 20 minutes late due to traffic and that seriously ate into the time we had allocated for taking photos. The Cupcakery, A: Didn't get a response to an email I sent them, so had to call while in Vegas instead. We had 4 different flavours (Strawberry shortcake, Kir Royale, Cherrylicious, and Chocolate Passion) delivered to the Suite and they looked amazing. Apparently, very tasty, although I never around to trying one. I brought my own cake stand rather than hire one and the best man arranged them all before we got there. I'll write up some more reviews of the Bachelorette party etc when we get back from honeymoon. xXxMrs. Hewitt(!!!)

DH was fast asleep yesterday and I was still too excited to relax, got loads done online!! Some of our pics should be on Ron's blog in a few days. Won't have the albumn for a few weeks yet.I forgot to add my review for Lori White! She definitely gets an A++! Had the hair and make up trial on Monday which took 3 hours. She underestimated how thick my hair is, so made some changes to the style on the wedding day. I oved my make up. It was exactly what I wanted. She also did an amazing job on my sister and mother's hair. My mum has really thin hair and usually hates how hairdressers style it for her. Lori really listened to her and did it exactly right. Mum didn't go away and start changing it as she would usually do. She also did fabulous work on her make up. I've honestly never seen my Mum look so good!! Lori is great. Really great!! Lori was with us from 10am til almost 3pm. Didn't feel rushed at any stage and had plenty of time for little touch ups etc before she left.
