Artificial Flowers

I talked to my WC a few days ago and she told me my bouquet alone would be more than $350.  I had no idea flowers would be so expensive.  I am considering artificial flowers for the bridesmaids and groomsmen.  My bouquet and FI boutonniere will be real.  Is this tacky?

Personally I don't think that would be tacky, especially if you can save some money. But $350 just for your bouquet?? Ouch...

I'd get a second quote on the bouquet.

I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

Yes, get another quote and see if they can change things around to make it more affordable or maybe try a different florist. Or maybe you could make your own when you get there?

But I don't see anything wrong with fake flowers. The ones you've picked look really nice.

Does your venue have an outside vendor fee?  Even paying that to get your flowers elsewheremight end up costnig less. If they don't then I would really consider getting a quote from somewhere else.

Which chapel/hotel are you getting married at?

Afloral does good work, but check with your chapel to make sure that bringing in fakes won't incur the outside vendor fee.  Personally, I made all our flowers out of paper to save money, but we didn't go through a chapel so we didn't have to worry about that.

Thanks ladies.  I am getting married at Mandalay Bay and the costs for the little extras are adding up.  I didn't even think that they would try to charge me to bring in my own flowers.  I can't imagine anyone telling my groomesmen to take their fake flower off because it isn't allowed.  The thought of that is cracking me up.

I was looking at afloral too (for my bm bouquets), but their real touch selection is quite slim. I think silk looks god awful, so if going with fake ones will try to use RT. Let me know how they turn out, if you decide to order them. I am getting married at TI and they do not have an extra fee if you bring in artifical flowers, but there is an extra fee for using real flowers not from their vendor.

Good luck and keep me posted ;)

I don't think they'd ask them to take it off, I think they'd just add it to your bill, probably without even saying anything.  :/
