Wedding reception in Las Vegas

I'm getting married next summer in Las Vegas.  We're having the ceremony at the Wynn, probably a reception dinner at the Wynn buffet.  My question is- since I'm not planning a formal reception, should I plan something for after dinner, like a club?  If so, any suggestions?  I'm concerned about leaving out any guests who are a little too old for the club

Re: Wedding reception in Las Vegas

  • You wouldn't have to plan anything, most people will want to go and drink somewhere or gamble. You may want to do a bar-like place that is not a club, in case someone who is older wants to come if you do end up planning something! Cool

  • We are doing our wedding at the Wynn with a cocktail reception to follow at La Cave.  We decided to do a two hour double decker bus to downtown las vegas after the reception to keep the party going.
  • How many guests?  I'm having my dinner reception at the Paris buffet, but I'm considering that a formal reception in that we are providing dinner and cutting a cake.  And it certainly isn't cheap once you factor in everything.  So I think you would be fine to consider your dinner reception a formal one and not worry about entertaining everyone afterwards if you don't want to.  It's Vegas, there's something for everyone to do, even at night.
  • Just out of curiosity, who is your contact for the Wynn Buffet and La Cave?  I have requested info twice for reception info at their restaurants and my wedding coordinator keeps telling me they will have someone in contact with me, but the only response I have received is from their catering company.  Do you just contact the restaurants at the Wynn directly?
  • You need to go through wynn restaurants directly, not the catering company if you are wanting info on a reception in a restaurant.  The catering company only does events in the ballrooms.  When I first started looking for info, I called the number for group reservations of 5+ I believe (you can get the number by clicking on the link I posted below)

I have been working with Linda on our restaurant reception.  She has been great to work with, and when I call her, I usually get a call back quickly.
  • Wow, double decker bus. What an awesome idea!  Thanks!!
  • The Wynn took quite a while to get back to me with a buffet quote.  It was weeks later, and I had already decided on the Paris for the reception.  If you send me a personal message, I'll be happy to share my quote with you so you can get an idea of what the costs might be.
  • Does anyone have a possible quote/idea/website featuring info on how much a double decker bus ride would be? I LOVE that idea!

  • i actually called a double decker bus comp and it was $135/hour with 18% gratuity.  I was actually a lot cheaper than I thought- much cheaper than table service at a club
