Will makeup artists laugh at me?

I'm feeling pressure to book a makeup artist before the ones I like get booked up. As a treat, I want to pay for hair/makeup for my 5 bridesmaids. Harmony Medina has given me the best price so far. However, she won't have time to do hair AND makeup for all of us, so my BMs could choose one or the other. I'm loving Francesca, but she is quite a bit more expensive.

Would they totally shoot me down if I asked them to split the work? Harmony could do hair and makeup for 4 of my BMs, Francesca could do hair and makeup for me, my MOH, and my mother.

Has anyone ever done anything like this? Should I just e-mail them? Will I offend them?

I don't think they will laugh. The worst they can do is say no.  Just ask and go from there.

I don't think they'd laugh either, especially since one doesn't have time to do the whole party.

Ditto with everyone. I'm doing the same actually. Francesca is the one doing my hair and make up. And my mom has her stylist doing her and 3 other girls.

I don't think they'd be offended; after all, they're both getting business, and having to spend less time with you by splitting the labor leaves them both open to take additional clients that day.  I think it would be courteous of you to give them a heads up that you've decided to bring them both in, but I doubt either would object.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. When you told Harmony she didn't say, great, no problem, let me bring a colleague in?  I find that completely odd.  The fact that she didn't volunteer a recommendation or bring in her own freelancer, completely opens it up to you.  Book both.  Let them know that you are doing both and you should be fine.

I still think it odd that Harmony doesn't have a friend in the business or that she is willing to leave money on the table (she could subcontract out).  Again, book both.  It should all work out.

I am having a whole gaggle of girls too and I would hope that whoever I went with would help me arrange for ALL of them.

Is Harmony booked with another event and that's why she won't  have time? I know she works alone because when I told her how many people I had I asked her if she worked alone or with someone and she worked alone but she got everyone done in plenty of time and had time for my touch ups since I had went in between the girls in the earlier part of the day.

I don't think Harmony is booked, but I want to be ready to take pictures at 1, because we're doing pictures before the ceremony, which is at 5.

I'll e-mail them both and just see what they say. Hopefully then we wouldn't have to start at 8am and could at least push it back until 9!

    Thanks for the reassurance :)

My wedding was at 530 in the evening she came at like 730 to start setting up the first  bridesmaid was coming at 8. She had us done by 12:45 and then she did my touch ups and put my veil in. I was out the door by 1:15. Then she worked on my mom well we down for pictures. One had short hair so she opted for just her makeup and so she had 5 hair do's and full face. So I am sure she would get it done..

Ooor am I not understanding right and maybe you want Franchesca for yourself and Harmony for your bridesmaids only?
