Outside Vendor Fee Photographer

Hi Ladies!

I am going to be getting married at the Wynn and will be paying the outside vendor fee to bring in my own photographer.  I have been reading alot of posts and saw someone write "He was the only photographer I could find with a certificate of insurance. My venue is requiring this!"

Has anyone else heard of this when using outside vendors at venues?

Our venue didn't ask for that but what they're asking for is not entirely unusual when one business allows another business to perform work on their property; no different than only using a license contractor with insurance to perform work in your house, etc., since otherwise you're assuming liability for anything that entity might do.  Even photographers should have some form of insurance to protect themselves.

got marreid at the wynn last month and had an outside photographer at the ceremony without any problems...and didn't have to pay the fee. the fee only applies when you waive your rights to having/using their in-house photographer.

from personal experience at the wynn...you'd want to go with the house photographer...their pic's are AMAZING!!
price-wise it's a bit more than what you'd pay an outside photographer, but talk to the photo dept. and they will work with your budget.

Destination Bride....did you have two photographers at the wedding then?  The Wynn photographer and your own?  Did your personal photographer have any problems with having another photographer there?

A lot of casinos are cracking down on outside photography on grounds. Before you do anything, contact the place you are getting married at and ask them what their policies are. If they say they do not allow them---or allow them with a fee---please, for the love of all things good in this world, do not try to skirt around it. Your wedding is not the time to take chances like getting kicked out.

If a certificate of insurance is something the Wynn requires, find out now. Better safe than sorry.

No one wants to get arrested on their wedding day.

Wow they both took pictures with no issues?
Some of the outside photogs have a non compete clause and won't "compete" for your attention to take pictures with other photographers and flashes around. I'm really suprised this was allowed. Who did you use as your outside photographer??

I also got married at the Wynn and my outside photographer was allowed to take photos from his seat as any other guest would.  He was not allowed to walk around to get different angles etc but he was definitely allowed to be there.

I used Cashman through the Wynn for my ceremony pics and absolutely loved them.  I personally chose which of their photographers I wanted after looking at books of their work and was very happy with my choice (Joe).
