How much were your flowers?

I'm looking for flowers and so far the prices seem a bit on the high side to me. Most of the florists I contacted about a week ago haven't replied yet. The best price I got was from The Pallete which was about $120-150 for my bouquet, $80 for bridesmaid bouquets, $15 each for corsages / boutonnieres.

I think it sounds like a decent price, especially since one florist quoted me $250 for one bouquet! However, we are on a *super* tight budget and I'm not sure we can spend $400-500 on flowers.

I thought about doing silk flowers, but I really love fresh flowers so I'm considering DIY for the flowers. It does make me a little nervous since fresh flowers arrive 1-2 days before the wedding which doesn't allow much time if something goes wrong!

How much did you spend / are you spending on flowers? Does anyone have advice on how to save on flowers?

That's definitely a good price. I'm spending 756 on bouquets, bout's, corsages and 410 on reception centerpieces. :/ I really like calla lilies which is why my cost is so high.

If you are going to DIY can you get the flowers wholesale, like at a costco or wholesale florist in Vegas?

Flowers can get costly and will end up wilting.

Brides on this board have done creative things instead of bouquets. From silk bouquets from etsy to making their flowers from paper, and subbing purses intend of flowers. Personally I only spent 300 on my bouquet and MOH bouquet. Our bouts were included.

I'm going with Pam at the Palette and she has been great at suggesting alternative flowers to lower costs. If you want natural flowers I suggest you give her a color palette and a budget and let her choose the most economical flowers.

You don't have to use flowers for the reception though, maybe candles or other decorations should be fine. I don't want to spend too much on flowers but I am "splurging" on my bouquet since I know it will be in most pictures, I'm using less expensive flowers for the reception.

I spent about $180 on bouquets for me, my sister, and Rich's sister. And they aren't real---but, damn, they still look good now, 9 months later!! Real flowers just weren't in the budget for me; I couldn't afford something that would have made me happy---so, I went to Etsy, and search and searched until I found the perfect thing.

    Here it is:

i have a $200 floral credit that came with my package that I plan to use for my bouquet, FI , groomsmen, fathers and mothers. I am having a friend of the family make the bridesmaids bouquets from silk flowers to closely match my inspiration bouquet...its saving me a ton!

I have to use my vendor`s florist so I don`t have a choice on costs, other than to choose less expensive flowers.  I think the price you were quoted is quite good.  I don`t have a total for all of my flowers yet but my cors & bouts are $30 each. Eeek!

I would just be specific with Pam (if you do go with the Palette) on what your budget is. I am spending almost exactly $500 (plus the $200 for the outside vendor fee), which I think is very reasonable.  Fresh flowers are important to me, and since we have a lot of bouts and corsages in our order I do not want one to be missed.  I guess you really just have to decide HOW important fresh flowers vs. silk are for you.

We spent $255 on my bouquet, $55 ea for the bridesmaid's bouquets, $20 for DH's bout, $15 ea for the groomsmen's bouts, $40 for the Flower girl's bouquet ( a mini replica of mine) and $25 ea for corsages. Florist was provided by Caesar's Palace.

Note: You will find Las Vegas more pricey for flowers than other places because its a desert and they need to ship everything in...but the ladies above gave some great alternative ideas!

I think I spent approx $100 on silk flowers.  I made 3 bouquets and had 5 bouts (which I totally forgot about so the gents didn't get them)
