Hi!  Do you know if you are able to hook up an Ipod in the room so the music goes through the speakers?  That's one thing I liked was the sound system that they had playing when I was in the suite.  They have surround sound everywhere it looks like, but wondering about the Ipod....

Thanks!

In all honesty, I didn't actually see the hook up when I was in the suite but I asked about it when I went back down to the front desk. I was told there was and that the speakers are wired throughout the suite. I was speaking with a manager when I was there and age gave me her card. I was going to double check anyway so I'll try giving her a call tomorrow and I'll let you know.

Hey Sara! Sorry it took me a while but I finally talked to a manager at the hotel. There is a Bose system in the bedroom, which will just play in there and there is an iPod station in the living area which will play on the built-in ceiling speakers throughout. Now I just have to find more music for my iPhone! I was only able to see the H suite when I was there, which has the same layout but is a little smaller. Did you get to see the actual L suite? I asked for a strip view but apparently all the Ls have mountain views. How was it? I'm guessing we're going to look out into darkness at night. You'd think they'd make the largest suite with the best view. Oh well, I guess we can't have it all :(

Hi!  Nice on the music, that's a relief, cause on the H Suite description online it says something about background music or something, so I was hoping that's all that could be played from those speakers.

Yes I did get to see the L Suite, I saw the E & L.Well the view isn't strip view, but there are a bunch of little lights out there, so you aren't looking at total darkness.  Granted, you definitely don't have the awesome view like the Vista, but the Media doesn't have that spectacular of a view either.  I think it still looked pretty out there but yeah you'd think they'd make it so it has a better view.  Oh well though, like you said, can't have it all, other than that I think it's perfection:)  Here's a pic that you can sort of see outside through the curtains (click on it to make it bigger), I should have taken a pic of the view but didn't.

Oh I was also going to say, I'm not sure what kind of decor you like, but if you look at the video of the L Suite on Youtube, the decor is more natural I guess you'd call it, but the one I looked at which is room #60905, has different decor-to me a little more modern I'd guess I'd say.  If you looked at my pics that's what it looks like.  So just thought I'd throw it out there in case the difference interests you.

I'm glad there's someone else on here doing the L so we can chat about it:)

Oh, good to know about the decor!  I was told that the L was the same layout as the H (the one I saw), just a little bigger so I assumed the decor was the same.  I must admit, I like the modern look better, but oh well.  I've seen the video on Youtube before but really hadn't paid attention to the fact that there are plants in there and it's a lighter colour palette.  I still love the suite though. Are you going to do anything to decorate the suite?

Were you able to cancel your ceremony and rebook at MB?

You could probably request the one that I saw couldn't you?  Otherwise I'm sure the natural decor is just as nice, maybe move the plants into the bedroom to make it more open (just a thought).  The H is 1,674 square feet and the L is 2,164 I want to say, so a decent amount bigger I think.  It has that seperate sitting area off the bedroom with the tv, not sure if the H has that, and the office area in the L has like a horseshoe shaped desk, only way I can think to explain it, but I think that's the perfect spot for food.  Oh wait you aren't doing food are you?  Well either way, if you have some snacks or whatever that would be a good spot for it.

I have about 35 or so votive holders and candles that I plan to use sprinkled with white rose petals around them.  I was going to do fuschia petals as that is one of our main colors, but since the decor has red accents that won't really work, plus our cake will be blue/red/grey/some green I think.  But that's about all I'll do.  What about you?

Ya, I definitely need all the space I can get. We're going to have 60-75 people so I'm going to stick with the L Suite. I'm sure it's still quite nice, even in the lighter decor. Moving the plants to the bedroom may be a good idea though. We won't have food but we'll have some snacks. I'll probably just put out pretzels, nuts, that kind of thing on the coffee tables. Oh ya, we're also going to hit up M&M World and get some in our colours to put in a few bowls. I'd have to agree that the white petals would probably work the best, otherwise you're going to be mixing a lot of different colours with the decor. I'm making paper bag lanterns for the ceremony on the beach so I think I'm going to make about 20 smaller ones to put on the tables during dinner and up on the suite. How's your music collection coming along? I've downloaded a fair bit of music but I definitely need a lot more. I also have mine on my iPhone so I'm thinking it might be better if I buy an iPod and use that instead. I'd hate to get a phone call and have it interrupt our music.

Hi - The Suite I am talking about is an L Suite, I'm thinking maybe you are thinking we are getting a different one maybe:)  I think there are like 5 L Suites, and they must just be decorated a little different or something, maybe the decor is different on each floor possibly, not sure.  I also looked at the E Suite, which is 100 sq. ft less then than L but it had the same decor, maybe that's where the confusion is...?  But yeah we are getting the L too, and the one I looked at, in my pics, is the room number I specifically requested.

Only thing I'm waiting to hear back on now is if we can get any type of discount or not, if not we may just get the room for the wedding day, which kind of sucks, but if we can do an early check in which is noon there, it won't be so bad cause our ceremony isn't til 6, I really want it for the night before though, so we'll see!

Ooh the paper lanterns sound pretty, I've always liked those, and it will give a nice glow in the Suite.

Haha on the phone ringing during music, is there a way to make sure it doesn't ring while music is playing maybe?  I haven't even begun to download more music, right now my Ipod is full of music, so I'll have to take some off to add different songs, but my FI has an Ipod I bought him years ago that has no music on it, so we'll be filling that one up.  I'm very excited to see your pics/hear how it all went for you and it's not that far away!  Scary huh, haha/j-k:)

I think where the confusion is is that I thought you meant that all of the L suites had the same decor as the one on Youtube. I then thought you meant that if I wanted the decor to maybe go with one of the smaller suites. So, the L suite must come in 2 different decors. If the one you saw has the dark woods and is really modern looking, then that's what I want. I'll have to put a request for that on my reservation. I wish I could have the suite the night before too but I can't dish out another $500 for it. We don't get married until 7 so I will probably get to go up and see it but I'll probably have to trust some family am friends to set it ip and decorate for me. I have a hard time letting go of control though, so that might be interesting. The paper bg lanterns are pretty. I have so many restrictions to what I'm allowed to use on the beach. I took one down with me to show my WC to prove that once sand is put in the bottom, they can't blow away and get caught in the pool filters. I bought some pretty floral stamps and have stamped both sides of the bags in a heavy black ink. I'm working on my planning bio so once I'm done, I'll put pics on there. Yes, it's kinda scary how close it's getting! I'm exited yet terrified at the same time. We haven't even started my FI's immigration paperwork yet and he's moving here right after the wedding. He won't be able to work until he becomes a permanent resident, which takes 6-9 months. No second income right after paying for a wedding, yikes! But I'm excited for the wedding itslef and to finally ge him up here and not have to drive 4.5 hours to see him. I'll let you know whatever I can before your wedding. Too bad I haven't heard of anyone getting married on the beach or using the L suite before me. Sorry if I have a bunch of typos. I'm on my phone.

@mwkoby- Sorry for the delay!  Good, I think we're on the same page now:)

Oh you're not getting it the night before, I thought you were for some reason.  Where are you staying/getting ready the night before/day of?  I'm thinking we'll only be able to get it the day of since I haven't heard back from the lady I was talking to at MB, but hopefully we can do the early check in, and if so we'll get ready there still, I don't want to get ready to early anyways.

Oh and I hear you on the control thing:)

I think the lanterns will look great!  Yeah it's kind of annoying how strict all WC/hotels seem to be with everything.  I guess that's Vegas for you!

How exciting for you and your FI, what a thing to look forward to:)  Where is he from/live right now?  and yes getting rid of that 4.5 drive will be heaven I'd think!  Well happy holidays and talk soon

@mrsfranklintobe - The L Suite isn't available to book online, you have to call.  One downside of it I think I'm finding is you can't use coupon codes for it since it isn't online:(  However, if your wedding is on a Thurs. for example the rate is much better than Fri. and Sat.!

I really wanted the suite the day before but just couldn't justify $500 for it. We're staying at THE Hotel and their rooms are all suites anyway. The room will be plenty big enough to get ready in. I originally wanted to get ready in the L until my mom made a good point that all the girls' stuff will be left in there and we won't have time to clean it up before we head there for the reception. We're keeping our regular room so that we don't have to move all of our stuff to the L for one night and then move it back the next day. We're not sure yet where my FI is going to stay the night before. We're both a little old fashioned and don't want to see other the day of. FI lives in Yakima, in central WA. I live I'm a small town about an hour east of Vancouver, BC, right across the Canadian border. I'm really excited to get him up here. It'll be a huge adjustment for us. We're going to go from seeing each other for a few days every couple weeks to living together! I'm sure that while my BMs hair is being done, I'll sneak up to the suite to check it out and make sure everything has been decorated the way I want it. I'm going to try to let things go but I can't completely leave other people in control! I hope you had a good Christmas!
