NWR: Christmas cards

Random question, but after you got engaged, did you send out/sign Christmas cards together?  FI thinks we should but I think it might be weird since none of my family aside from my parents have met him.  Curious what you guys did in this situation!

nope - we're sending our first joint christmas cards this year!  I think it really depends on what you're comfortable with - I got a card today from one of my friends who is engaged and it was from her and her FI (but we are good friends with both of them, I feel it is unlikely such cards are being sent widely by her).

I'm not in this situation, but I think it would be a good idea to do the picture cards and sign them together.  It would be a good way of sort of introducing him to your family and getting them more familiar with him before the wedding. As with anything, though, if you don't feel comfortable, don't do it.

We're also doing our cards together :) I think its all about comfort level. Had you asked me this question last year. . I would have said no, but I know mostly everyone on his side and he knows most of my family too now so its all good :)

    Hi,

The Fi and I did joint Christmas cards last year (before he was the Fi) I did the picture cards myself online.  We sent them out to both our families for the people that didn't know it seemed to be a real conversation starter! I loved sending them out! We're sending them again this year!  I just can't wait until next year when we can use one last name!! Laughing

Since we have lived together, we have done Christmas cards together.  We have never done photo cards, just your standard card signed with both our names.

because we were engaged and living together last Christmas, we did.... if we had not been living together I would not have sent them..... and we got to use an engagement photo on the card :-)

I bought ours yesterday online picture cards.  This is our first year engaged and living together. I'm only sending them out to my close family and friends though. Next year when we're married, I'll go all out.

We are sending out joint Christmas cards together this year to everyone we are inviting to the wedding. I felt this was a great way to show guests who only know one of us, who the other one is. This is our second Christmas living together but, our first one as an engaged couple. I think it is just a matter of preference.

FI and I don't live together but we did do joint Christmas cards this year. They are actually postcards from VP with our picture on the front that simply says,

    Misty & Jason
    2009

Then on the back I just put our greeting and my name with the return address.
