Day of Transportation

Does anyone know of any services where you can get a limo for a one-way trip without having to rent it by the hour?  It seems silly to me to pay for time when all I want is transportation from my ceremony to reception.  Also, do you think that we should be responsible for providing transportation for our guests (there are about 15) from ceremony (at COTF) to reception (at Firefly).  Would it be terribly rude to have them fend for themselves?  I was thinking that everyone would cab back from Firefly to the strip/Mandalay after dinner.  What is everyone else doing?  I just don't want to bust my budget on transportation!

Re: Day of Transportation

  • I really think you should provide transportation for your guests.  It really is inconvenient and expensive to take a cab, depending on the day of week and time.  I mean we took a cab from NYNY to the courthouse (which was a disaster and nightmare) anyways it ended up costing us $25 one way.  I swore to myself the next time we go back to Vegas we will rent a car.

Most of our guests stayed either at NYNY or at surrounding hotels.  We had a limo pick up at NYNY, drove everyone to the chapel, then back down to the reception, which was at the Hard Rock Cafe.  I planned it this way so the reception was close to where we were staying and on the strip so it would be easy enough for people to get back.

  • I think you should provide transportation to your ceremony.. but from one location, everyone can meet up in one area and get a ride to your ceremony.. I booked a Bell Trans bus and its pretty cheap.

  • I used Bell Trans. They have a shuttle that fits 31 you can rent for an hour for $80 dollars. Very cheap and a nice gesture for your guests.

  • I think you need to provide transportation since you're the host. This is exactly the reason why we decided to have our reception at Joe's so we didn't have to worry about transportation for about 60-70 guests.

But since you only have 15 guests it won't be that big of a deal to provide transportation. Maybe you can do the DDB but if not I hear a lot of good things about Bell Trans!

I'm not much help on your other question though. I'm using the limo that comes in our package (through Caesars) for our photo tour and just adding on an extra hour just in case.
  • Yep, I  agree you should provide transportation, and at the very least it will keep everyone together and not wandering off / all arriving at different times, as PP said.

Also, COF is in a bit of a dingy part of the Strip - I am not sure how easy it would be to get a bunch of taxis there.

We provided transport to the chapel (picking up at several different hotels - people made their way to the nearest point) and to the reception. If you hire a limo for an hour, you should get your money's worth.

  • Thanks for the input.  Bel-Trans looks pretty reasonable.  I think that I'll try to book them.  My wedding is now 14 days away!  How long before the ceremony should I have them come?  Is 30 minutes enough?
  • Have a chat to Bell Trans or whoever you are going to book with. Tell them where you want your guests to be at what time and let them make a suggestion. They have a lot of experience driving in the area.
