In-Suite Alcohol Vendors

Hi Ladies,
We are now thinking of purchasing our own alcohol and hiring just a bartender instead of using the package we had originally booked. Has anyone done this?
Who did you use for the bartender?
Where did you get the alcohol?
Were you happy with this choice?
I am a little worried about all the work it will be to go buy the alcohol right before the wedding...
Thanks!

Hi as far as i am aware there are a couple of liquor shops ( one opposite mandalay bay, and i tink ones called lees discount liquor store and i tink there is a costco) so this is where we will be getting our alcohol from. We are booking the suite for the night before so we can get everyting ready and sorted. We will only have to put everyting on ice the day of the wedding. We are going to use absoloute beveraged for our bar staff its $35 per hr ( min 3 hrs). Hope this helps

Too bad more haven't responded to this for you:(  I do know this Knottie was really happy with Absolute Beverage and having a bartdender in general:  http://chrisandevamarried.webs.com/

Absolute has definitely been the bartender people go with, I don't think anyone really knew about Culinary Pros until recently so you many not find that many reviews on them yet.  I know a couple people have booked them though recently, so hopefully we'll get some good reviews from them in time.

At this point I'd feel more comfortable with Absolute based off prior reviews, but then I looked at it like I mean really how bad could someone screw up bartending you know, plus the fact that MC highly recommended CP's makes me more confident, and they are cheaper.

Just thought I'd throw in my two cents!  Hopefully others will respond to your other questions. Btw, I'll be responding to your email today, sorry for the delay, I haven't had access to my work email til today.

    Thanks for the info, Sara!
We booked a bartender through our caterer at $25/hr. We're having a cocktail party the night before, so I also thought about looking on Craigslist for someone to bartend that party. Good to know absolute beverage is $35/hr. I may try to book them or Culinary Pros.
As far as the alcohol, it's going to be so much cheaper to buy it ourselves, so it's worth the extra effort IMHO. ErinKay, maybe you could get a friend to help you buy and transport it?
We buy from Total Wine here in NC, and they have great prices, so we'll probably buy our alcohol there in LV.

No problem Angie!  Just an fyi Culinary Pros are $25 an hour, 5 hour minimum.  Absolute is $35 an hour, plus $2 per guest gratuity.  So it depends on how many guests you will have and for how long to determine who is cheaper.  HTH!
