Hi all!
I wasn't a big poster, just a few here and there when I had questions and comments. I just have to say I don't know how I would have had the best day ever w/o this board so I would like to share reviews w/ you all so that others can feel the same way
Mandalay Bay (hotel) - A - I know a lot of people had issues w/ the Vista Suite and customer service here in general and I just have to say that our overall experience here was great. Our initial experience at check in was a pleasant one although we did end up w/ a Vista that half looked at the strip and half at the airport but none of our guests seemed to mind at our M&G on the night before the wedding. The suite was a big hit and we actually stayed there our entire stay in Vegas, Thurs to Sunday and we really loved it. My one complaint for the entire weekend would be the elevators. They were SUPER slow and usually very crowded. Not sure why exactly but I know that once the weekend got there the hotel was packed and the elevators became an even bigger problem. All and all if that is really my only issue w/ the hotel then it was a good experience.
Mandalay Bay (Chapel) - A++ - I had Aleena as my WC and she was absolutley wonderful throughout the entire process. I had been planning this for 18 months and there was lots of back and forth and she was on top of everything. The only flowers I got from them were mine and the guys bouts and my bouquet was exactly like the pic I send and it was absolutley STUNNING!! I am getting so many comments on how beautiful it was. I couldn't have been happier. I ended up having 2 coordinators on the day and Aleena was unfortunately not there but the girls I had were fantastic even w/ a few last min questions I had around 3pm and my ceremony was at 5. The Valley of the Falls is an amazing venue, we hadn't seen it in person until we were at our ceremony and we couldn't have been more happy w/ our choice. Again everyone loved it!
Cashman - I"m going to give the photog's an A - they were great, very nice and did exactly as I asked.
As for the experience the next day def a D or less. The woman we had going through our pics was very nice but as others have said their prices are completly unreasonable esp for the day after your wedding when you have already spent tons of $$. They have all your pics set up all nice and some in frames and some in a slideshow and stuff and they go through all those fancy extras w/ you before they give you the prices. It's def overwhelming and a bummer because as much as you want a lot of the pics it's hard to justtify spending the money they are asking so we just got a couple of extras along w/ the photos that came w/ our package and that was it. I wonder if maybe they gave you a price list ahead of time and you could budget for it if it might have worked better, not sure but would've been nice to have another option.
Todd @ Bently & Wilson - A+++ - Of course as many of you have used him before he was just perfect. Of course he couldn't take any ceremony pics but he did take upwards of 1400 pics for us, we had him 8 hours, and they are awesome! I honestly don't remember seeing him at the reception all that much but he got some great shots. He was so relexed and chill and just what I needed. He would suggest things but wasn't pushy and of course just has a great eye for what he does. Just perfect!
DD Bus - A- - Overall a good experience. The drivers were nice and we were able to do all that we wanted. We had the bus from 530-730 to take us from MB to the Welcome Sign, Bellagio and then to Caesars for our reception. I didn't want to try to make too many stops and the Bellagio is one of our faves so we made a point to stop there. My only issue and this is not there fault is there is NO AC on the bus, I should've have looked into this better considering our wedding was in Aug but I just assumed at least the bottom of the bus would have it. My fault and it was a bit of a problem for a lot of people. So much in fact that they got off at the Bellagio and took cabs to Caesars and met us there. Oh well live and learn but like I said overall it was a good experience. As far as I know it was on time but we didn't get to it until about 545-6 because of pics but a good amount of our guests made it for 530.
Harmony Medina - A++ - She did makeup for myself, my 2 sisters and my mom. She was awesome!!! So laid back and chill, she def helped to calm me down when I stared to stress a little during the getting ready process. I LOVED my makeup as well as my sisters and mom's. Def 4 different people and personalites and she got them all right. She came and did a trial for me the day before and again it was just perfect. I had no doubt on the day that it would be great. Def a great choice for me and I can't say enough good things about her.
Masterpiece Cuisine - A++ - We had them cater our M&G Friday night in the Vista Suite. The food was awesome, everyone really enjoyed it and they were there to set up in plenty of time and were so friendly and quick. The entire process was such a breeze working w/ Scott on the menu and timing and again nothing but good things to say.
Gimme Some Sugar - A+++ - I used them for cupcakes for the reception and they were AMAZING....people are still talking about them!! We had peanut butter and chocolate and lemon and razberry. They were unbelievable. The girls were so great to work with and they process was so easy. I was a little nervous after ready some reviews on here that they were dry, etc. We had no problems at all. I also used them for a groom's cake for our M&G Friday night. DH has a small obsession w/ circus peanuts, you know the orange candy kind not the actual peanuts. So I surprised him w/ a cake that looked like one. He was floored!! He couldn't believe it, it looked so real he thought it was actually a giant circus peanut until I told him it was a cake!!
Debbie @ Fit for a Bride - A++ - Again thanks to the reviews here I used her for my dress steaming and had my nephews tuxes steamed. What a seamless process. She is so sweet and I paid a little extra to have it picked up at the bell desk and they dropped them there the next day, it was great.
Joe's Prime Steak & Stone Crab @ Caesars - A+++++ - I cannot say enough great things about this place. The food was AMAZING!!! Everyone is still talking about it. The Gigi room is so gorgeous and the staff is impecable. We are so happy w/ our decision on this place and I have to say I'm not sure why there aren't more people on here using them. They were so fabulous to work with throughout the entire process. I was never worried about a thing w/ them. So professional and just on top of everything. They even boxed up the left over cupcakes in to go containers and stacked them up at the door w/ bags for guests to take w/ them. I just love this place and wish they had one here in the Boston area so I could eat there again
Last but certainly not least...
Rob @ DJay's Entertainment - A++++ - He was so perfect for our event, we had such a fabulous time w/ him. He was fun and got everyone up and into it but not too in your face. It was just the right mix. He played great songs and def got the feel of the group and what type of music people were into and wanted to get up and dance to. I just wanted a fun party and he made sure of that. Again couldn't be happier w/ our choice.
So as you can see our day was just about perfect! Loved every second and I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you again to all of you and best wishes to you all
