11.11.11 Las Veags Wedding

HI,
I am a Sept. 2011 knottie but my boss is getting married in Las Vegas on 11.11.11 and has run into some issues. She has called a few hotels and that are not allowing room blocks and or in-suite weddings on this weekend. I was wondering if anyone knew if this is because of the holiday weekend or because of the date. Her and her FI have their heart set on a Vegas wedding and this is one of the only dates that works for them. Is anyone could give my some insight on this to pass along to my boss that would be amazing!

It's probably a combination of the two, since I don't think they refuse to block for just a holiday or an interesting number. She should probably plan on sending out STDs, and using them to warn her guests that they should plan on booking their accommodations early due to the holiday.

But you should warn her that everything is going to be more expensive and more hectic that weekend, for both her and her guests, so if there are any other dates that also work for them, they should look into those as well as a backup plan.

Those dates are insane. My WC told me they had 34 weddings on 10.10.10. And this is their venue only!

I was in Vegas not for a wedding but on 10.10.10 (didn't think about the date) We stayed off the strip at the Southpointe (due to everything else being booked) and it was a nightmare, SOOOOOOOO many people and brides everywhere.

I originally wanted to get married on 11.11.11, but once I started calling about rooms and rates for anything, everything was almost double what it would be to get married on 11.10.11. Even talking to the WC, they told me it was going to hectic.

In the end I changed my date, didn't want to go through all the extra stress or put my guests through it either.

Both of the reasons you gave are more than likely why the hotels won't do room blocks, too much guaranteed money to be made versus, holding space for the maybe's.
