Getting nervous with ceremony location choice! ack.

I know it is nerves as the date is getting close, I was set on Chapel of the Flowers. It just looks so darn cute in photos, but now as I sort everything out I am nervous that is going to be too impersonal and rushed. Add in the fact that Todd (our photog.) cant even take the pics while we are there which I never even thought of. The hotel chapels are out of budget. Reception is at MB.

I just saw the post about the Flamingo gazebo chapel and had not even looked at it before. I dont know why the heck not. Price is not too different and I loved the ceremony videos I saw online. Now I am wondering if I made the wrong choice!

I dont even know if I could switch at this point. we are having a 6 pm ceremony in March.

Any thoughts? I know many of you have done scouting trips.

TIA!
Molly

HOLY COW- I feel the EXACT same way! Booked with COF, now thinking it is too far (see my post below)... For whatever reason when I first researched I thought there was a 2 mile distance, not 5.66. We are also doing MB for the reception. I'll be interested to hear what others say! Hopefully some good advice appears!

What about the little chapel of the west? It's cute! I had first planned for COF but the fact that family couldn't video or take pictures and I would have to pay to have extra time for personal family and friend pictures on site I didn't like that.

I am doing COF in March at 6pm too! Have you actually been there and seen the venue? I haven't - I am going by all the great reviews and photos.

Don't second guess yourself at this point, especially if your invitations have been printed. If you read the Tripadvisor reports everyone is surprised at how personalised it actually was.

I second Little Church of the West. That is where I am getting married and it is so cute!! And it is right across the street from MB! The prices are very reasonable, but I am not sure about outside photog..

But on the other hand, a lot of girls have been married at COF and had very good reviews. Unless you really HAVE to switch, I don't think I would put that kind of pressure on myself and just stick to my gut decision!!

As many of you know, I am a COF bride and loved our wedding there. The chapels and grounds are so pretty. Our minister, Rev. Jerry, made us feel so special during our ceremony and did personlize it for us. We did not feel rushed and felt everyone we dealt with was very friendly and well as professional.

Gribbles made a good point about tripadvisor.com. There are a ton of reviews there.  http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g45963-d144168-Reviews-Chapel_of_the_Flowers-Las_Vegas_Nevada.html#REVIEWS

Obviously you have to be comfortable in your choice, but based on my own experience, I don't think you can go wrong there. Even DH, who does not impress easily, thought COF was one of the best chapels.

Thank you for the feedback...I have been frantically exlporing other options all weekend. The reviews ARE great for COF and it probably would be fine. I have been watching way too many youtube videos and I am feeling there might be a better fit for us. FI and I talked budget last night and I think I have been trying way to hard to limit our spending when we would have spent a fortune to have a local wedding.

I wish my cold feet would have kicked in a couple months ago though!

Flamingo (love the pics I saw online and the price is good), PH (really like their chapel), and MB can all fit us in just not exactly at 6 pm. except for MB. Waiting to hear back from the Wynn. MB happens to be the one chapel FI did see when he went to check out the vista suite on a business trip and he wasnt in love with it. That makes me nervous in itself! Because if he doesnt like the MB Chapel he probably will really not like the COF! ugg!

Gribbles - i noticed you are having your ceremony in the gardens at the COF. Have you talked to anyone else who has had their wedding outside there?

I was originally booked with COF and switched after seeing the location, I was not comfortable with it.  I have said this before several times but the north area of the strip I felt would not be appropriate to take some of our much older and much younger guests too, some people are totally fine the location and don't notice it like I did when I visited, so again it's personal preference but I DID switch even after I had 1 set of invites printed and the wedding website set up and now that I'm booked at a chapel on the strip I am MUCH more comfortable and am not 2nd guessing it.  Yes the WC and La Capella at COF (and prices) were excellent, but I just could NOT get over the location and surroundings.  Before & If you switch though make sure your date is available elsewhere tho!  We also had to change the time of our ceremony but only by an hour.

No, I don't know of any Knotties who have used the Gardens but I have watched plenty of the webcasts and photos so know what to expect.
