As I'm sure you know Todd probably shoots half the weddings of people on this forum, so he's very popular, gets rave reviews all the time and he's also very economical.

Now this is just my opinion, and I'm not trying to take away from Todd, but I feel like sometimes he's focused possibly too much on not missing anything so you get a lot more pictures (reviews often report up to 1800+ pictures) but during the busy portions of the event, I feel like the pics are not always composed that well.  That's obviously a double edged sword; if the photographer spends a lot of time on each shot, you're going to get a lower number of higher quality pictures, possibly missing things that are happening, while if you just shoot and shoot and are constantly on the move, you will miss less but the pics won't look quite as nice.

We went with Mike L specifically so we could have two photographers; didn't want them to be rushed or to miss anything, and I'm a novice photographer trying to be better than novice, so I'm pretty picky on photography.  You really can't go wrong with either Todd or Joey though, so again I'm not trying to knock Todd, just wanted to share my observations on what I see as differences.

I haven't heard of them, but keep in mind I only hear what gets posted on this site, so that doesn't necessarily mean much. :-)

sometimes its the style as well...we originally were going to go with Bently and wilson, but i we prefer the photo journalistic style that joey or tyler freear do for photography.  so its what you prefer style wise as well....hard choice i know!

I echo VG's sentiments.  If I had to choose between those two, I'd choose Joey.

I'm using Joey for our wedding and we used him for our engagement pictures.  He's super relaxed and easy going.  I really like his work, and I look forward to our wedding.  I can't speak for Todd with Bently and Wilson, but his reviews on here are pretty awesome.  I don't think you can go wrong either way.  I think it will come down to who's style and demeanor you like better.

I'm using Joey and I can't say too much because we haven't had our wedding yet, but I will say that his communication has been fantastsic and he's been super accomodating with our timeline. I love the work on his website and I'm really looking forward to working with him.

I would definitely check out their websites to get an idea as to their styles.  It really comes down to what your priorities are and what you are looking for the day of your wedding.

FI and I are using Todd from B&W because he is reliable, affordable and I like the work on his website.  But, photography is not our number 1 priority - - my FI is uncomfortable posing for lots of pictures all over town and so we won't be doing a photo tour.  We will take a few pictures around some quiet spots at the Bellagio (where we are getting married) and then get our family pictures done before the ceremony (we want to party with our guests at the cocktail hour!)   We don't really need a more "journatistic" approach, although I do hope he takes good candids during the reception.  

Overall, both of these photographers get great reviews, so you'll be in good hands regardless.
