Food at the Platinum

Has anyone or Is anyone doing a food tasting? The menu descriptions sound delicious and I remember Critnol saying the food was good, but I would love some more details if anyone has any.

Does anyone have their menu picked out yet? What are you planning on?

We didn't/ aren't having a tasting. Wasn't included in our package and I didn't really want to pay for one. We havn't finalized anything yet. The main course is pretty set. We narrowed down to these 4 hor d'oeuvres, but havn't picked which two. May also add a fruit display.

Hor D'oeuvres:Tomato and Mozzarella Crostini with Basil & Virgin Olive Oil Smoked Salmon Mousse on Blini with Dill and Crème Fraiche Grilled Cheese with Pesto, Bacon, Tomato &Vermont Cheddar Cheese (without the bacon)Coconut Shrimp served with Creole MarmadeSalad:Baby Mixed Greens, Tear Drop Tomatoes with Champagne Vinaigrette in a Cucumber Ring

    Dinner Selections:
Grilled Portobello Mushroom and Roasted Vegetable Medley in Puff Pastry with a Tomato Coulis

Chicken breast with Thyme Scented Chicken Jus Charbroiled Salmon with Roasted Pepper Coulis

    Dessert:

The grilled cheese in our top hors d'oeuvres options too!

I think we will probably do a buffet. I don't love buffets at weddings though . FI likes them because everyone can take what they want and however much they want. We just sent out our invitations (SQUEEE!!) and didn't give people a dinner option. Which means either a dual protien dish like the salmon and chicken or a buffet option.

I would really love to do the stations option. I think that would be fun and delicious. But unless we have a large decline rate, it's out of the budget.

I'm considering Platinum as well  but I'm nervous about the food.

I serve people everyday at work, so if I go out I prefer to have someone else serve me. So plated dinner was a must for me. Most of my friends are servers too. So I'd rather have everyone sit back and be taken care of.
I and a few of my friends are vegatarians (or some form of it) so I needed a veggie option. and I wanted to have something besides chicken for everyone else. Those 3 will keep the cost at $60 pp (since you have to pay the highest price for options).
Stations would be fun but all I'd want is potatoes and ice cream

and, I'm a slacker I havn't even ordered my invites yet. I really need to get on that!

We are doing the stations menu.. For hors d'oeuvres and pasta selection (which are the only things that aren't set) we haven't really picked anything but so much sounds so good!
These are all of the ones I am leaning toward.
Bacon wrapped Sea Scallops Glazed with Maple Syrup
Lollipop Lamb Chops with a Sour Cherry Glaze
Tenderloin Sliced on Herb Toast with Creamy Horseradish & Garlic Chip
Coconut Shrimp served with Creole Marmalade
Grilled Cheese with Pesto, Bacon, Tomato &Vermont Cheddar Cheese
Tomato and Mozzarella Crostini with Basil & Virgin Olive Oil

Our package includes a tasting but we aren't sure if we will make it to Vegas before the wedding.. hopefully we will though!

Our photographer recommended Platinum, but we already had a venue picked out.  He had good stuff to say about them.  I like hearing that from people in the industry.  I would love to rent out their entire pool area for a huge party someday after I win the lottery or Megabucks or something.
