How to choose a chapel

I am totally overwhelmed trying to choose a chapel in Vegas. My groom and I are eloping with just a few friends. I have read tons of reviews on line, and it just confuses me more. Any advise or suggestions?

Do you like traditional, contemporary, long walk down the aisle, short aisle, don't care, strip, off stip, etc.?

Even though we live here, we did all of our initial research online.  We looked at the chapel websites for the hotels we liked best and then began our process of elimination:

    *  First to go were those where the most basic package was out of our budget.
    *  Next to be crossed off were those that did not have a restaurant in walking distance to the chapel.
    *  We then eliminated the ones we didn't connect with visually.  For example, we thought the chapel at the Paris was too much like a cupcake.

By the time we crossed off many from the list, we were down to five that we actually visited.  After comparing our notes and figuring which met the majority of our criteria (budget, location, general vibe from the staff), we selected Mandalay Bay.  And we were very pleased with our wedding.

That system may not work for you, but perhaps it can give you an idea on how to get through all the choices.

Also, take a look at the LV Knottie bios - lots of pictures and reviews are available to help you with your decision.

    GL!

I spent hours searching youtube for videos of venues to find what I wanted especially since a scouting trip was out of the question for us. Some look great on the website but we didn't feel it when we looked at video. It was also very helpful for working out what we didn't want!

I put a deposit down on 2 chapels before i found the 'one'.  Don't do what I did.  Take your time and research venues you are interested in.  Narrow it down to 3-5 and then research those further.  location, location, location was a big stickler for me too.  that helped narrow it down a lot.

Thanks everyone! Everytime I feel like I find one that I am close to connecting with, I end up reading a bad review on some random website!

@vegasgroom - we're not very traditional. We want something that isnt too tacky, but is easy. I think on the strip is preferable.

you are always going to find a bad review, no matter what chapel you choose.  I would check out knotttie married bios on the vegas list and weddingwire.com .  Those were the 2 most helpful review sites for me, but again you're always going to run across the bride that had the exceptionally bad experience, or can just never be satisified no matter how great the venue and service.
