Successful Scouting Trip :)

My FI and I went to Vegas 8/2 - 8/6 to celebrate my 30th birthday, see Nicki Minaj, and do some wedding scouting .  GREAT TRIP!  Nicki Minaj was incredible, I've seen her before but never as the headliner and I was definitely impressed.

I also got to meet my wedding coordinator (Shani) in person at Caesars and got to look at the wedding location (Juno Garden).  It was about 4pm when we went to check it out and although you could hear noise from the pool, it was nearly drowned out once you entered the garden.  You could still hear it faintly but I'm sure the sound of my heart pumping in my own ears on the day of will drown it out!

Shani also assured me that the officiant for the ceremony will go over everything prior to the start of the wedding and will meet with my FI and I individually, so there is really no reason for a rehearsal unless it is already part of your package.

I also went to Marie's bakery and did a cake tasting.  For those of you using Marie's, I highly recommend the white cake with bavarian cream filling.  I was set on chocolate until the tasting and I'm never a vanilla cake person but this is just too delicious.  We are doing the main tier in that flavor - it is actually 4 layers per tier with fresh strawberries in between each, and then our top tier is red velvet, the whole thing iced in ivory buttercream

I am doing the reception dinner at Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris and they use Marie's bakery.  They do deliver, and I was very impressed with their choices

Congrats!!  And wow - - that cake sounds amazing!
