Nevada-Las Vegas

Reassure me about this DDB...

First - Today is the 30-day mark!

So we rented the DDB for 2 hours following our ceremony. Pick-up/Drop-off is at NY NY. It's a Tuesday from 5pm-7pm. We have our photographer for 3 hours - 2 on the bus, 1 after.

We definitely wanted to go to Freemont St and asked our photog for a second stop suggestion. He suggested the Bellagio area saying it was a great place for pics. I emailed DDB and was shot down saying not enough time for those two specific stops, why dont I go to the Las Vegas sign and one other place?

I don't want to go to the sign. They had been pushing that when we booked too and we said we would think of other options because we have no interest in stopping there. I don't know why they're pushing it so hard.

Second, knowing what I know about the layout of the strip and using basic geography skills, going from the start/stop of NY NY to the sign and lets say Bellagio... Why would I rent a bus for 2 hours for that? The majority of the strip is on the other side of Bellagio. Where is the rest of the time spent? I dont want to spend all that time at Bellagio because honestly, we could just walk there from the hotel and not spend the money on the bus. I also dont want to spend all 2 hours ON the bus because we're paying our photographer to come with us and use the stops for our photos. There's only so many pictures he can take on the bus before it gets old.

My question is, what exactly happens on the bus? Do you ride around and do a "tour" other than your stops? I really dont want to pay to keep my guests within that 15-minute radius.

My other issue is that we are flying in the night before. We're landing at 6pm, have to go get our license. I emailed and asked if we could drop off the drinks the morning of the wedding. We have a rental car and my brother could easily go. I was told no, they don't take them day of - no explanation. I'm sorry but, what sense does that make? They'll take them the night before but not the morning of? They said to let us know if we still need the coolers. We would have to provide our own ice. I'm reading other reviews that said they provided ice. Whatever. That would be fine if we could drop it off in the morning. I'm not going to hoof it to the liqour store in my full get-up to get bags of ice after the ceremony.

I have been getting a negative vibe with every email i get from them.

I'm considering eating the deposit and canceling because right now it's not looking like it's going to be worth it.

Re: Reassure me about this DDB...

  • the strip is bumper to bumper traffice starting at about 1pm until probably 8 or 9pm.  So quite honestly it could take you up to an hour to get to fremont street from NYNY depending on how bad traffic is, it will at minimum take you 30 minutes to get there.  So if you guys do get off the bus and go play around downtown and say take 30 minutes down there you've already eated up 1-1.5 hours of your 2 hours.  If traffic is bad coming back down and you get off at the bellagio, you still need ot go into the hotel and play around there for another 30 minutes and there's your 2 hours.

  • I'm considering having the bus and photographer meet us at the chapel following the ceremony - it's only a few blocks from Freemont - and going from there.

The only issue with that is there is NO way we would be able to bring drinks/coolers on the bus. If it was picking us up at the hotel we would at least get everything ready the night before and grab it before the bus comes but if it's coming right to the chapel and they are refusing delivery day of, we're out of luck on that. I really don't understand why they won't accept it day of but will accept it the night before.

  • Traffic is a nightmare.

Regardless if you are getting an off vibe or not feeling it. I would cancel.  I am contemplating it, but the more I think about it the more I think I am just adding a headache and something more to organize.

If you are already overwhelmed and wont miss it then I would do without.
