Dress meltdown

I having a meltdown- I feel like I still haven't found THE ONE!   I LOVE the dresses with the vertical ruffles!  I like these 2 dresses, but I also don't feel that either one are it.

I love the fit of the first picture and its super comfy and goes with my hollywood theme.  I just feel it may not be "wedding enough" because I orginally wanted something fancy.  I was considering having an alterations store add beading on it, but that is scary.

This dress is more fancy- but I am don't think its as flattering as the first one.  I am torn!  I want to keep shopping, but I have already hit up 6 stores and I am very limited in samples because of my plus size.

Poll please!  (On the plus side of things- I have booked Harmony Medina, and All Night Long so I have some checks completed! YAY!... Now I am waiting to hear back from Todd.  Thanks to you all your helpful Knotties- you ladies rock!)

I love the 2nd dress!  But if you aren't in love with either you should keep looking...

I agree with you, the first dress is very flattering to your figure.  My choice = #1.

If you want to bling it up a bit without having beads added, maybe have a sparkly belt?  Also, a diamond pendant and drop earrings would fit your Hollywood theme and add some glam.

Maybe next time you go to try on dresses, bring some jewelery with you or ask store to try jewelry & accessories. You might get that fancier look you want and maybe the dresses will be more to your liking.

    BTW I like dress #2

I like #2. BUT. I think you need to make another trip and ONLY try on a few more, don't overwhelm yourself :) and then step back and think if you still like #1 or #2. I doubted myself until I went back and tried on 3 more and then put the only I like back on and I was completely "This is it..."

I think No. 1 really suits you and looks fabulous, but I voted 'keep shopping' because if you don't think either is 'the one' and just settle for a dress then you might always wonder if there was a better one out there. I'd keep looking a little bit longer, you can always come back to those if you find nothing else?

If you did go for No.1 and wanted to bling it up a bit, why not add maybe a sparkly flowery corsage to either the waistband or to the bottom of one of the straps? You could get one that pins on so if you don't like it, there's no irreversible damage done?

I'm also no help because I think both are gorgeous, but I agree with PP's - if you don't feel that either is "the one," you may want to keep looking.

Thanks everyone!  This dress shopping has been a nightmare!

**charilesunshine- I read your planning bio and saw you were looking at 50's style dresses.  One of the stores I went to had a designer that was 50's.  Check out their website  at stephaniejamescouture

I love the 2nd dress! Fits you so well! But I agree with PPs, if you're not feeling any of these dresses that much, then you might want to keep looking!

Thanks for the tip! Her dresses are fabulous aren't they? There only seems to be one stockist in the UK though and it's in London. Could be a good excuse for a trip to London!?!

I like #1, I think it makes you look longer and leaner than #2. The halter gives it a more old Hollywood feel, IMHO.
Have you tried them on with jewellery & veils (I'm seeing birdcage like this:)

But if your not happy keep shopping around and don't settle.

I would keep shopping if you're not feeling either one. I was feeling the same as you when I went dress shopping and almost bought one. I'm glad I didn't. I kept looking and eventually, I found my dress!

One thing I did was go to http://www.oncewed.com/used-wedding-dresses/and type in my dress size and just look through all the dresses. Lots of brides post pics of themselves in their dresses and it might help a little to see other, real brides that are closer to your size wearing the dresses (instead of the models). It helped me out a lot when it came to narrowing dresses/ styles/ designers down.

Just an idea. Hope it helps!

So I found 3 more stores that have plus size samples I could try on.  I am going to cross my fingers I find THE ONE!  If I don't, then I am going to get dress #1 with the halter.  I will bling it up by adding a brooche, some jewelry, and an awesome birdcage with a flower w/ feathers.  I might even try it on with a small hoop skirt underneath, maybe that might add some of the "wedding flare" I've been missing.  I went back and tried on dress #2, and it's not the one at all.  I can't get dress #1 outta my head!  But we'll see if I find anything else this weekend...

Thanks for your help and feedback!  LOL- it was an even split vote!

I actually tried on #1 ( at least a VERY similar one) at David's Bridal and the pics dont do it justice! It's such a flattering dress and the halter is very old hollywood. It's actually my runner up dress :) I loved it, and the only reason I am not going for it is because I have my heart set on a tea length gown :)

    I love the first one!!!

I think I found it!!!!  I went yesterday- I was stuck with a dress that had verticle ruffles and I LOVE this one!

Since this one is so big- I think I might buy the halter dress drom davids Bridal (#1in my first post) also and change dresses mid reception.  I can wear the halter one clubbing after the reception and around the strip and will feel comfortable!

    Yay!!!!
