Trying to decide between Flamingo & Chapel of the Flowers

Hi all,

Just started planning a Las Vegas wedding for late April/early May. I think I've narrowed down my ceremony options to either the Garden Chapel at the Flamingo or the Chapel of the Flowers. Would like to hear if anyone has any feedback on either or another suggestion I might not be thinking of!

Re: Trying to decide between Flamingo & Chapel of the Flowers

  • I had my ceremony April 2011 at COF and could not have been happier.
If you have any questions in particular, feel free to ask.
  • kelly- which package did you do and wwhere did you get married at COF
  • We just did the traditional ceremony in the Victorian chapel. We did end up buying all of our photos because I was having trouble picking and my husband encouranged me to buy the whole photo package with the CD and rights.
  • cool :) what did you do for reception
  • We only had 7 guests so we took everyone to the bar in the Cosmo (where we were staying) then husband and I went to take pictures and we met everyone that evening and took them to dinner at Biscayne in the Tropicana.
  • OK. I am getting married on April 12 2013 in the lacapella chapel. I am trying to decided what package I want. Now I have the sweet package which is only for the B&G for $99 then they have the sunflower for $169 which is for the bridal party then to include the guest its $249. I already have Keith Kaplan for 7hours a bit over $700. I want to know what package u got at COF? Help!

  • The only thing is if you and your guests are staying on the Strip, the Flamingo is more convenient. Otherwise, most brides have been happy with both venues.

  • cinder- thats my cousins bday :)
  • I've never been to COF but we had a chance to check out the Flamingo when we were there in July. We decided to go with the Gazebo chapel for our wedding in January but we liked the indoor garden chapel too. We loved how secluded the chapel felt on the grounds. It's tucked away from the main public area which is nice.

  • ldv- the gazebo at the flamingo in pictures looks like the bride/groom and officiant are squeezed in.  is it a tight fit or just how the pic was taken

I think it's just the picture. They are standing right in the arch. For our day I think we will have the officiant stand in the opening arch with us just outside. And then the bridal party will also stand on either side on the outside. I'd hate to ask everyone to come to Vegas and then be tucked away inside the gazebo where no one can see us.

We are having our cereomny in the gazebo chapel  at the flamingo in april and im very happy with the choice. We were going to do COF but I wanted to stay on the strip and i think you get a lot more with the flamingo packages. Flamingo prices are great and our coordinator Illiana is awesome and responds fast
  • thanks you too.  i saw the pic and they looked squished lol

ldv- my thoughts exactly why invite pple and they cant see u in there
  • Thanks for all the feedback so far. I'm still trying to make up my mind! Hopefully this is the hardest decision!
  • where else are you looking ckonopacky?  just these 2 cause im also looking at IP and maybe chappelle du jardin

We just got married at Chapel of the Flowers on 10/11/12 and it was AMAZING!  I literally emailed my coordinator sometimes several times a day and she always answered right away and was so helpful!
They handled it so well that I didn't even know all the problems that we were having because the coordinator took care of everything.  Our ceremony was delayed several minutes because the groom and his family were really late.
(it poured in Las Vegas that day and MIL got stuck in the elevator LMAO)

I had no idea the ceremony was late and that so many of our family were late.  I was just happily chatting away with the minister, coordinator and photographers.

I was thrilled with COF and can't wait to get the photos because the chapel and grounds were BEAUTIFUL.  Plus I loved the live internet broadcast.  A lot of family and friends watched our ceremony live right from home.
It is far from the strip itself but we stayed at Stratosphere.  Unless everyone is on a strict budget cabs are super easy.

    Hope that helps!

  • southerncutie, I've pretty much narrowed it down to those two choices, and I'm leaning towards the Flamingo now simply due to its convenience on the strip. Now it's on to picking a place for a dinner afterwards. I don't want a formal reception, just a nice dinner for the group (around 25-30 is what I'm planning on). I have emails out to Canaletto, Trevi, and Mon Ami Gabi. Those three seem like they'd all be pretty nice!
