Meat and Greet dinner

Hello fellow knotties

Is it standard for the bride and groom to pay for the meet and greet dinner?

I would like all my family and friends to get together the first nigth that we are all in town, but don't have the budget to pay for everyone's meal that night.

Any suggestions on where we can meet?

Thanks!

It's generally typical to pay for any events that are part of the official wedding weekend itinerary. However, doing a meet and greet is strictly optional, and there are quite a few low-cost options. You could do a "first-drink's-on-us" type event or you could just pay for drinks and hors d'oeuvres for a couple hours rather than doing a full meal.

We did ours at Gordon Biersch, and their prices were very reasonable. I think other folks have hosted theirs at various bars on the strip, and I know some folks have done unique things like a bowling party and such. GL!

Like PP said it's not mandatory and you can either make it low key and something you can add to the budget, or just let everyone know where you and your FI will be and then leave it up to them.

We are planning on just telling our guests where we are going for dinner (most likely a buffet in MB) and anyone who wants to come can come. We are very low key and it isn't an officialy event. I say, do what you want and can afford!

Our Meet & Greet is the day before the wedding. We put an insert in our invites that said Welcome to Las Vegas join us for cocktails from 6-8 at the West Wing Bar at the MGM so we're just paying for drinks.  Not all of our guests will be able to make it because so are flying in that night so we're thinking it shouldn't end up casting to much.

    Thank you ladies.

The buffet sounds like a good idea! :)
