Centerpiece

So I'm going to have our wedding reception at Wicked Spoon private room. They told me we can bring our own centerpieces. Originally I don't really want to have  centerpieces for tables but then I thought it will look bare. I don't want to have flower centerpieces. What did you use/will use for centerpieces and from where did you order them?

Our theme will be 50's wedding, so I'm looking for centerpieces that don't cost arms and legs. No flowers and no feathers. I know I'm so easy to please . TIA knotties .

I don't really want to do much centrepiece wise either, so I'm going to attempt to make luminaries for the table by ironing crayon shavings between sheets of wax paper.  I lent my iron to a friend, so I haven't had a chance to try this out yet.  Could be a complete disaster though. :P

ccavness, yes I want to use vintage things but at the same time I don't want to carry them in my luggage or ship them just in case they might get lost or late. I'm paranoid. I wish I can come up with a simple idea.

do you know what you're doing for a cake yet? You could do mini cakes or cupcakes as the centerpiece - 2 birds with 1 stone

I did this for a mobile (althought i never ended up using it) and it does work but my iron needed a good cleaning after :)  Blues and greens came out best :)

I bought little casino themed mints I'll have in bowls on the tables.  Not exactly a centerpiece but it'll be something on the table

FrankensteinsGirl - Good to know!  Blues and greens suit me just fine.  I was thinking about experimenting with the blues and greens and seeing what happens with the metallic gold and silver crayons.  Thanks!  I really want to get my hands on my iron now...

GingerCat, we are going to order the cake through Wicked Spoon because it will apply to our f&b minimum. I'm not sure tho what kind of cake yet.

FG, mints are good idea. Are you providing the bowls as well? I meant, are you going to bring them traveling with you or are you just going to buy some in Vegas?

I also didn't want to pay money for flower centerpieces that we'd only see for 3 hours (and no one wants to lug flowers around LV) so the location will provide a small mirror on each table with the votive and we ordered poker chips from matrimonychips.com and will sprinkle them on each table.
