Outside Photographers at Caesars? *Updated 4/27*

I have seen a number of planning bios that have an outisde photographer for the ceremony at Caesars, from what Shani my WC (and Valerie the receptionist?) told me,  you cannot have outisde photographers there anymore.  I am not having one anyways, but just want to caution anyone planning on that to get it in writing from their WC that they can have an outisde WC for their ceremony because Shani told me even though my contract says we can for a fee, that they no longer allow that. FYI

She said we still can have an outside florist (for a fee) and use our outisde photographer to take pictures anywhere on Caesars grounds before or after the wedding (no fee).

Again I am not having an outside photogrpaher at the ceremony but this is just what Caesars told me:

Unfortunately, we have experienced too many problems with outside photographers to allow them to come into Caesars anymore. You are more than welcome to hire an outside photographer for before and after the ceremony and at your reception, we just will not allow an outside photographer during your ceremony

Here are the photography prices as of 4/27/11

one hour photography upgrade after ceremony on Caesars grounds: $295 (disc of photos not inlcuded)

Each add'l hour: $200

Photo CD's:
Bella Luna/Roman: $400
Cleopatra/Simcha: $650
Caesar: $800
30 minute upgrade: $200
One Hour upgrade: $400
Each add'l hour: $300

webcasting of ceremony: $150

I mentioned this is another photo thread earlier this week--- A LOT of casinos are cracking down on outside photogs. It sucks, because a great deal of us past brides were allowed to have them---and were allowed to shoot on the grounds. It's getting to the point where you can no longer have an outside photog OR shoot on the grounds.

PLEASE!! Ladies!! Check with the casinos in advance!! And, prepare yourselves for a potential upset to your original plans; you may not be able to get pictures where you want them.

    (I'm making this a sticky!)

I booked with Caesars in April and signed a waiver to have an outside photographer. I'm freaking out now after reading this. If I have to cancel I will not get my deposit back and I will be a mess over it! I almost don't want to ask but I guess I have to? Wouldn't they contact me, or maybe let the people who have already booked do it?
Anyone else already done this and asked yet?

Yeah I would check with your WC because I thought a while back it was said if you booked before a certain date it was still allowed (grandfathered in). Check with your WC so you don't have any suprises :)

I signed a contract saying outside photogs WERE allowed for a fee too but they are saying now that the rules are changed, EVEN if you singed a contract (since they have the right to ammend it).  Again, you may be able to work it out with them, I did not try because I am not having an outside photographer at the ceremony.

Ok, I understand I was just saying I thought I had heard differently a while back. Ultimately the point I was making was to re-confirm with her WC. Jeez.

I have emailed my wedding coordinator on two separate occasions concerned about the policy change for outside vendor photography during the ceremony, and she has assured me both times that because we signed the contract before the change was put in place, that we can still pay the vendor fee to have an outside photographer.

My understanding from my photographer is that Caesar's has now changed their policy abot photography on the hotel grounds, and this is now not allowed under any circumstances.  So because of that, we are having to find a different location to take pictures before the ceremony, but during the ceremony we should be covered.

But yeah, I agree with PP about just contacting your WC.  If she is anything like mine, she will just ease your mind!  :)

I just emailed my WC to see what our options are because when we signed our contract back in April the outside vendor option was listed and we hired an outside photographer.

My WC got back to me today, and because we booked and signed the waiver previous to the change we are ok to keep it that way. Just from now on they will no longer allow outside photogs. I was so relieved to hear that from her.

Decon Tyler told me this too when I was looking into booking him, but my WC at Caesars AND my outside photog (Trey Tomsik) said there are no problems with this.

My WC just emailed me back and she said that since we booked our wedding before the cut off date we were fine and I could pay the outside vendor fee and have my own photographer.

All the casinos in their family are becoming strict on outside photographers. I am having my wedding at the Flamingo, and they tried to play flexible, but weren't. I just got a package with a photographer. It was easier. My fiancee works for them, and that may be why they are being more flexible with us, but all the offical paperwork makes it clear they don't want them.

Always check your contract, and check if there are any changes from time to time. If there are problems, they will run back to the contract and say "see, but it says here..."

Yes from reading other Posts it looks like Paris (also a part of Caesars entertainment now) no longer allows outside photogs.  I had originally booked there in October (before I switched to Caesars) and they DID allow outside photogs then.  I agree Alocaria brides need to be super careful about confirming the rules AND reading the contract!

I wonder why they don't at least offer outside photographers some sort of permit to shoot in their hotels.  Or have good recommendation from other vendors, etc.  That would at least weed out most of the hacks.

My guess is they don't have any trouble booking weddings, so they can implement whatever rules they want.

It'd be nice to see some of the great photographers here in town (or even in the world) shoot people's weddings in some of the high-end hotels, but I guess we'll never see it happen.
