Hello! New here and I thought I would introduce myself...

Hello Vegas brides and grooms! 

I've been a lurker and a member of TK for a while (from back in my ol' bridesmaid days, helping my friends with their weddings).  But now that it is official for me, I thought I would introduce myself and say Hello!  

So my FI and I are planning a Vegas wedding!  Hurrah!  We both love Vegas (he goes several times a year, I usually join him at least once a year). We will have friends flying in from all over, so we figured why not Vegas? 

We are in the very early stages of planning an August 2013 wedding (yeah, I know, it's a long way away!)  We are actually going on a scouting trip next month to check out a few places (Bellagio, Wynn and Mandalay Bay).  Probably a bit early, but we were planning this trip regardless so we figured we could avoid the expense of a separate trip later this year. 

Anyway, no questions (yet), but I did want to say hello!  Everyone's posts are so helpful and have made me really excited about having our wedding in Vegas!

I don't think you're scouting too early.  Certain vendors - especially the popular ones around here - will book more than a year ahead of time.  It doesn't hurt to narrow down your options.  (We booked about 16 months out!)

Thanks everyone!  Very glad I found this board!  This board seems very friendly and welcoming.  I know it will be an excellent resource for me and FI as we plan our wedding.  Also, I'm going to try to take some pictures on our scouting trip so I can report back and help future brides.
