S/O to my vent post and a question

So she emailed me like an hour after I posted my vent.  Very convenient. Do you ever think we are being watched by vendors? ::looks around suspiciously::

Anyway, she asked me what I wanted to do about seating arrangements.  We are only going to have 21 people so she suggested maybe 2 long tables of 11, or even one very long table of 21.

What are your thoughts on the long tables vs smaller round tables?  Which would you prefer in a smaller setting?

I like round tables that way it's easier to talk to the people you are seated with.

I read there was a study that people are more likely to be social with round tables...but that could have been a dream...

That makes sense, even if it was a dream!

I often wonder the same thing! If it kicks them into gear, let them creep away =)

I say round tables if it's an option, much more festive and condusive to socializing! If not, then the two long tables are good too, and if you can have them side by side and not one long row... then at least the people with their backs to eachother can turn around and chat.

I agree with round tables.  I know vendors watch these posts.  I'm glad she responded to you though.

They definitely creep on the boards!! I remember reading girls say the saw The Knot up in the background at one of the wedding chapels when they were in Vegas, so it totally happens. That being said---if it gets them to get their crap in order, good!

    I vote round tables :)

We had one long table for our meet and greet dinner, and it was really not conducive to productive conversation---our guests only got to talk to those who they were seated near.

Thanks for the input ladies.  I think we will definitely go for the round tables now.

Oh, I thought I was the only conspiracy theorist! Good to know we are all suspicious (cue Twilight Zone music).

I say round tables as well. It's easier to move around. You may even want to leave one open seat at each table (if you have the room), so you can mingle and sit and chat with your guests.
