I just got nervous...Need Help

I am getting married at COF and then we were planning to have a dinner gathering (i guess you can call it) at Canaletto... But I all of a sudden just thought about decorations at the restaurant. Do I need flower centerpieces? I just started FREAKING OUT!! Suggestions from anyone will help.. I really need to keep cost down, and I feel soo lost right now.. HELLLPPPP!!!

  • If you're freaking out over center pieces 11 months out, my first recommendation would be to take a few weeks off from wedding planning; there's no reason to stress out over things but especially not something that non-critical at this far out.  Then, if you're on a budget and don't want to spend a lot of money on flowers you'll see for two hours and then throw away, my advice would be just don't do them, or DIY artificial flowers if you like doing things like that, much cheaper alternative.   Your guests won't care either way so if you have center pieces great, if not, still great.

  • I'm having my reception at Canaletto, the lady who I'm dealing with sent me pictures of the private room we will be using and it is just beautiful! Plus it has a balcony over looking The Grand canal Shoppes! I'm not having any flower centre pieces just basic "Vegas themed" decorations ie table confetti. My guess is that the guests will be far too preoccupied people watching and admiring the decor to even notice the lack of flowers!
It's your wedding so do what makes you happy! Hope I've helped

  • I agree, if it's not important to YOU, I wouldn't stress about it.  I am also doing a small dinner and I plan on making 4 or 5 small arrangements with silk gerbera daisies for the table.  It will cost under $40 and look good for pictures of the table and that's all I really care about.  Not being from the area, I will just be tossing them anyway.

I left a cooler full of beer in the mandalay lobby when we checked out; I'm hoping it made someone smile at least for a few hours <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />

  • Thanks.. I can't say it is a DIRE requirement.. I just wasn't sure what I needed to do. Having a destination wedding, i guess I am unsure of all that needs to be done. I really dont want to have to do it, I really want a place that looks beautiful on it's own. I know that it is harder to DIY when I am in maryland and transporting it there.

  •  I'm buying a few boxes of fresh rose petals and scattering them on the table and using the restaurants tea lights. Nice and cheap but will look nice also. Can't see paying alot of money for centerpieces and not being able to bring them home.
  • I think you're right.. I'm sure it has to do with the other things that are irritating me.. Mainly MOH and BM stuff... Definitely frustrating me. More than what I expected or need. This is wayyy too early for this mess..

    Sorry.. just had to vent.<img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-sealed.gif" border="0" alt="Sealed" title="Sealed" />

If you don't really want to spend money on flowers, you can use your bouquet and your BMs bouquets and place them in a small vase. The flowers can double as centerpieces and adds a little pop to the room.
  • thanks.. That's a great idea!!
