Outside photography

Okay so I need some help deciding. I am having a small wedding of about 30 people at Caesars. I am debating whether to use an outside photographer for both the wedding and afterwards. I would probably only do two hours BW. Just the wedding, pics afterwards and then a little of the reception. I just can't decide if paying the 200 dollar fee is worth it or not. My package is very small with Caesars and I would have to buy extra pics if I went that route.

Re: Outside photography

  • I think you'll find it is worth it, IF you would like a copy of all the photos taken.  Imagine Studios, Caesars vendor, charges typically $500 to $600 for the CD of all your photos, so if you would have wanted that anyway, or unless you want to keep buying expensive prints from them when people want copies since you wouldn't have the electronic copy, you'll easily make up the outside vendor fee.

  • Personally, I would do it.  Having great photos is super important to me though and I want to be sure I don't look back on the day and wish I had more or better photos.

If Caesars is still using Cashman, I would consider it even more necessary because the cost for additional prints and the digital rights is ridiculous.  An extra $200 for the outside vendor fee is a drop in the bucket for the thousands Cashman charges for the digital rights.

If photos are super important to you and you have the money in your budget to pay the extra amount, I would do it. Packages only include a certain number of prints unless you want to pay even more for additional copies. If you hire an outside photographer, you would get so many more pictures out of it, and depending on who you would book, you could get them on. CD with rights. Photos were super important to me so paid the 150 that Flamingo/IP charges for outside vendors and then booked BW. I couldn't afford thousands on photos so that option worked for me since the price was amazing for what I'm getting in return.
  • To throw a wrench in the mix, I got my pics from Imagine from my CP wedding and they were pretty good. I got 10 free included with my package and then they are fairly reasonable to order too. The disc is too much, but I also don't think I need the disc since I wouldn't want all the pics. But-- $200 may be worth it to you. Cool Either way I am sure you will be happy!

  • Thanks for the wrench : I only get 6 prints I think. I thought I would originally just go with Imagine and pay for the extra prints and like 3060 mins in addition to the ceremony. But we would probably want a lot of prints, which could get pricey and I am just wondering if it really would be better to just go with BW since I will get more photos are print myself for cheap... Decisions decisions.

Its crazy with all the decisions involved in a wedding. Sometimes the smallest of things require so much debating, hehe! It's hard for me because sometimes I'm so indecisive on what the best option is... If you were interested in the 2 hr BW package, you just have to determine if 500 plus for BW and outside fee is worth having more prints and photo rights. I know a determining factor for me was that I wanted to make a photo album for myself and our parents and I can do that with the photo CD... Best of luck!
  • more than likely no matter which chapel or package i chose we will do an outside photographer, that way i will get more options and pictures

</div><div>We were contemplating this too but to be honest, I really only want a picture of the kiss and my little flower girls when it comes to the ceremony haha! ;P</div>
