DD Strip Tour with Photographer

FI and I are going to have Joey Allen as a photographer for our wedding day and I was wondering something...

I would like to give my guests a Double-decker strip tour and I was wondering if the idea of doing it with the photographer would be a good idea. I mean, instead of renting a limo and leaving for two hours only the two of us to take pictures with Joey, maybe we could hit two birds with one stone? We would have more pictures with the guests, the bus could make stops at specific spots so FI and I could take romantic pictures...

My main concerns are:

1- Can the DD bus stops at a lot of places?
2- It may be hard to gather everybody after a stop especially if we drink on board...

What do you think?

  • Hi Snow White, I am wondering exactly the same thing. I think our guests would really enjoy the strip tour and who doesn't want a photo at the Vegas sign, right?! My only problem is - I think the strip tour is actually more fun when it's dark and all the lights are on. Presumably you want to take the photos during the day though, do you? I am thinking of during it around sunset, so we get some day light photos, but on our way back our guests get to enjoy the view. Another thing to consider - I agree with you that you can't do too many stops as it would be a hassle to get your guests back in the bus. If you are drinking definitely :) So I was thinking maybe Vegas sign plus one or two stops? I think speaking to your photographer is a good idea, he might have an opinion on this...might have done it before. Can you pleease let me know what he says if you do? I haven't booked one yet as we cannot set a timeline...so I don't know what time to book them for.

  • love that you asked the same question as me! Don't even feel silly...I'm just happy that I'm not the only one with questions like this (I feel quite clueless about some things). I swear sometimes its just over whelming with all the choices and its nice to know we're in the same boat! And I take it you're from Montreal? I'm from Saskatchewan!  Love seeing other Canadian brides on here!

    Hello!

Actually, my reception is already reserved and it starts at 7pm so the tour would have to be before as I reserved the photographer only for 6 hours. I was thinking about having the ceremony at 3:30pm and then starts the tour around 4:30pm so it ends around 6:30pm.

I too think a strip tour would be better during the night, but for the pictures, day time is better... I would love to have a few night pictures, but maybe FI (then my husband :) and I could just have a mini night shooting after the reception. We're having the reception at Paris hotel, so we'll aready be at a super nice strip spot for night pics!

I will contact the photographer and ask him what he thinks about all of this. He's probably done that before!

    Hello fellow Canadian bride :)

It is overwhelming sometimes! We already know we will have to face unexpected things on the big day so if at least we can get prepared as much as we can, the stress can lower a bit!

Let me know if you ever find new ideas regarding this!
