Thank You Question??????

Married 9/25/10 and we sent out thank you cards before and after the wedding for gifts. We have been waiting on personalized photo thank you cards from the photographer on special cardstock. These thank you cards are for everyone that attended or gave a gift. The first shipment was lost by UPS in December, and we are just now receiving the cards. Most people already received a thank you, but 2 or 3 people haven't gotten one yet at all (I know, horrible). I'm wondering if we should mention in the card that it's late and why?  I have opinions on this, but I'm curious what say you?

I don't think it's horrible, especially since you're not even 6 months out. I personally wouldn't make a big deal out of it. I think it depends on who these people are. Are they young? I wouldn't be offended to get a thank you note after a few months.

Maybe something like "Dear Dude and Dudette, We are so sorry for the delay/We're sorry we haven't thanked you sooner, especially since we are so happy you were able to join us/especially since we loved the canoe you gave us..."

I'm no etiquette maven, but that is what I would do in your situation.

I don't think it's a huge deal either, at least you are sending one. There are people out there that don't send thank yous, which blows my mind.

I never got a thank you from my friend's wedding like, 3 years ago. Another friend said she sent some thank yous, but I never got one for the wedding or the shower, which was last summer!

I don't let it bother me TOO much, because I didn't give a present just to get a thank you card, but it sure isn't nice.

So yeah- at least you're sending one!
