My phone got jacked and I am 5 days away!! VENT!

I stupidly left my phone out on my desk (concierge desk) while I went to get a drink of water from the back office.  I was gone maybe 45 seconds and it was gone when I got back.  This totally could not come at a worse time.  I have so many phone calls to make and now I don't have a damn phone!  Verizon and their insurance sucks balls and I probably won't have a phone till Wednesday.  I just got the phone last month when mine stopped working, so I don't even have the option of using an old one.

Oh no! So sorry to hear about this- how frustrating! Hopefully bad karma will follow the person who took it! **hugs** On the upside- omg, only five days!!! How exciting!!!!?!

Can you buy a cheap pre-paid phone with some minutes to get you through a few days? I think you can even get one from Best Buy for Verizon with your same number so you aren't purchasing minutes, just using your existing plan.

Or try craigslist for a cheap used verizon phone. We replaced a phone that way when my uncle was due for a new one 6 weeks after his old one landed in the pool.

Can they track the phone by GPS or something to maybe find who took it?

In the meantime, can you perhaps get a prepaid like PPs suggested?

I've locked my phone remotely and wiped the personal data on it.  I tried seeing if I could GPS track it but couldn't (no one I talked to could give me a reason either).  I hope that karma really works, because that person SUCKS!  I'm going to go into Verizon this afternoon and BEG for a new phone, if they can't help me then I might go the prepaid route.

on the news the other week someone had their phone stolen.  police were able to follow the gps on the phone by pinging off cell towers.  the phone was recovered.  maybe go cops fill out a police report and see what they can do

I broke my phone 3 days before leaving for Vegas. Called insurance, they couldn't get me a new one until the day we left for Vegas for the wedding. I was freaking out. Verizon had to send one to me at the Mandalay Bay and it was waiting for me when I got there. I was freaking out, but it actually was sort of nice to NOT have to answer a million questions from everyone days before the wedding when all the info was on the website anyway...:)
