RSVP's????

Okay, so I am wondering about sending out RSVP's with the invitations or would it be sufficient to have a guestbook on our wedding website and have people RSVP that way? Could you guys give me some pros and cons, please.

...I like the idea of saving money and paper
...I am afraid people won't RSVP that way - but heck, some people don't RSVP at all anyway

I am torn...and need some insight! Thank you!

Re: RSVP's????

  • i would put the rsvp in the invites.
  • I have an RSVP section on my wedding website.  Honestly, I've decided that certain people won't RSVP either way but at least if its down to the wire, its easier for them to jump on the website then to have to mail the RSVP card. Plus, it saved paper and money.
  • We are having guests RSVP via email that way I can email our itineraries and hotel block booking information to those who are coming.

  • I'm sending the RSVP cards with the invitations, just because I like getting mail. :)
  • I would definitely not rely on the website for your rsvp's.  There's been many instances over the two years I've been on here where various wedding-related website providers' servers have had issues, software upgraded, so on and so forth but the end result was losing the rsvp list.

  • I am thinking about getting people to email their RSVPs. We are currently overseas, so FI and I speak to our friends via email anyway, so I am hoping that will be fine. I don't think our friends would send back the cards, so I am thinking about saving the money and paper just like you.

  • We are doing RSVP's on our website- no reply cards. Most of our guests live in Mexico and the mail system there is basically non existent... I'm using Appycouple, (it is AMAZING!) but I remember seeing a service where you could pay a small fee to do an online RSVP (it might be more reliable than just a normal wedding website)
