Our cake looked amazing and tasted great. We did had red velvet w/ cream cheese frosting and half lemon w/ white chocolate mouse and raspberries. We paid about $700 for a cake that fed 100

  • We used:

It was fairly easy going through the ordering process, but I’ll caution you now that if you get nervous or uncomfortable with vendors who aren’t the most communicative, Freed’s is not a good choice.  While it was fairly easy putting all the options together, selecting a cake from their website that had the look we wanted and getting the order in, after that, it was a little difficult on certain things.  For example, yes they charged my credit card for the whole thing but I wanted something in writing from them showing what we ordered, all the options and when and where it was to be delivered.  They were like well your credit card charge is your order confirmation.  This of course was all via the phone because you generally do not hear back from them if you email.  We eventually got a faxed copy of the cake order that had all the correct info but getting it was not the easiest thing in the world.  My recommendation is that anyone going with Freed’s, forget email and only use the phone with them.

  • we'll most likely be getting ours through Gimme Some Sugar Las Vegas.  And if you're like me and need 24hr replies good luck.  I've contacted the well known bakers in LV and it takes about a week for them to reply.
  • We are using Caked las Vegas. They are doing a 2 tier for cutting and cake pops. A preferred vendor of our venue, they will delver on site for free! We did a tasting at freeds. I must say they make yummy cake! But our vision was adding up $wise there so we passed.
  • I second LVCC......best tasting cake ever!

I used L.V Cake Designs. I emailed all of the above vendors and they were the cheapest and the cake turned out great! Here was their review and also a pic:

I chose Dawn based on the quote she gave us for a cake of our required size and actually saw the cake we wanted which another Knottie had her do. I asked Dawn to copy it but in our colours, which she did.

I had no idea how she would incorporate the colours, but the cake was sitting by our table in Little Buddha when we arrived and it was very cool. Mostly green and orange, with the edible sugarpaste sign with our names on.

She organised delivery with Pouria and was very low maintenance to work with. I emailed her to say thank you yesterday and she responded, saying she enjoyed having artistic licence with our cake, and to do something a bit different. She makes the cake on the day for maximum freshness, and it was delicious. We have a ton left over which we have brought to L.A with us!

  • We used Freeds and the cake itself was perfect but the frosting was a little too sweet... and that was using the 50%/50% buttercream/fondant icing they do.  Still we were very happy with our cake and the pricing.

And echoing vegasgroom get everything in writing if you can and do any discussion over the phone... They delivered to the wrong place b/c they overlooked our reception venue change after we e-mailed them the new info.  (This was partially DOC's fault for not confirming like we had asked, too.)  They were champs about getting everything under control before I even knew there was a problem, but yeah, save the stress if you can.

  • loved freeds cakes during their tasting. i have done all of my transaction over the phone and the people i spoke to were extraordinarily nice and read back the details of my cake word for word. $600+ for a 3 tier cake to feed 40-45 (according to them, i think it will feed more if cut less generously) with filling and fondant and some small customization. this was what we splurged on.
