Honeymoon

Did anyone take a honeymoon? Or did you consider LV your honeymoon? We are planning to take one and trying to decide on a location. Would love to relax after all the planning!

Just started booking this week! We are going to the Hawaiian island of Kauai! So excited!
 
the weird/getting there the long way part? We have to fly back to Seattle then out to sea! Either that or drive into Cali for a few hours... but even driving is more expensive!

We didn't take one, we just spent extra time in Vegas.  The original plan was to take a belated honeymoon last fall, but then we did a remodel project in our codo that ate up any vacation funds.  We're now doing a 1 year anniversary trip to Barbados in May.

Ditto Direy!  We decided to hold off on the HM, and will be staying in Vegas four days after the wedding. 

We're hoping to go somewhere (anywhere) warm for our one year anniversary.

We're staying in Vegas for a few days after for a mini-moon, then we'll take our honeymoon (location TBD) over the summer.

We live in L.A., so for us, Vegas isn't really a vacation, more like a long weekend escape.  We are staying a couple extra days in Vegas after the wedding, and then planning on going to Kauai and Oahu in the fall for a week.  Our big trip will be for the one year anniversary in May 2013, and we're going to Italy and maybe France.

Wow we are looking at Kauai too! Anoer thing in common! Where are you looking at staying? Our other options are playa del carmen or maui.
We have to fly back to Seattle first too then out the next morning.

@starryeyed77 - I know that your post was directed at goodtobeking, but I thought I'd jump into the Kauai discussion.    We are looking at staying in an oceanfront condo at Kuhio Shores, which is on the south shore of Poipu Beach.  The pictures and recommendations I've seen are pretty fantastic.  The ocean is literally 30 feet outside your door!  We are looking at renting unit #316, because the reviews say it's been remodeled and it's very luxurious. 

When are you planning on going?

Hi! We will go right after the wedding so end of April through May 1st or 2nd. When are you going? This is our first choice do hoping to make it work! Ill check out kuhio shores!

We stayed in Vegas until the following Tuesday (wedding Saturday), spend three nights in New Orleans, a night in Ft Lauderdale, then five nights at Sandals Antigua.  Doing it over, I'd have gone with Sandals St Lucia over Antigua, but it was awesome either way.

My plan is to stay in Vegas only a day after the wedding and take the HM about a month later. We go to Vegas so often that staying extra time isnt that exciting to us. We are saving a lot of money by keeping it small so we hope to have a few dollars left for our Negril trip

St Lucia is my dream honeymoon but being up in Washington we would spend way too much time flying and we only have 6 or 7 days. Maybe for the anniversary!

We're going to stay in Vegas for 4 days after the wedding too and then for our one year we are hoping to go to Hawaii too!  Seems to be a popular place for Vegas brides!

Unknown at the moment. If we can't take a HM then we will hopefully be able stay in Vegas for a extra few days.

We were in Vegas from Tuesday thru Monday (wedding on Friday).

I had midterms the Tuesday after the wedding, so had to be back and was busy with school until mid Dec. But all that hard work paid off, I graduated!!

We're booking our Honeymoon now. We'll be going to Puerto Rico for 2 weeks and while were there we're going to take a cruise for a week. St. THomas, Barbados, St Lucia, St Kitts, St Marteen. 

Going the begining of March. I super excited. Time to hit the gym and burn off all those Christmas cookies!

Another Hawaii HM here!  Headed to Maui for 7 days, but not until September (4 months post-wedding).  We wanted to spread out the fun, so to speak, so we wouldn't have to go the rest of the year without a vacation!

We are pretty set on the island... But will probably end up splitting time between both sides... Fun to mix it up a bit! I'll keep you posted on the details as we go along!

Congrats on your graduation, Scary!!!  

I am also taking 5 days off of work when we get back from Vegas to decompress.  I cannot fathom getting home and going to work the next day!

We will be in Vegas from Wednesday to Sunday (wedding Saturday) and then on Sunday we are driving about 5 hours north to Mammoth Mountain in California for a ski honeymoon for the week. Then we will drive back to Vegas for one more day before flying home!

We stayed in Vegas for three days after the wedding in May. We had to put our honeymoon off because we had travel booked every month after the wedding. Our best man got married in Siesta Key, Florida so we considered that our half honeymoon. We also came back to Vegas twice before our real honeymoon in October. We went to Excellence Playa Mujeres in Mexico. We had a two story rooftop terrace there and if anyone is looking at Mexico PLEASE consider it. Seriously amazing.

The day after our wedding, we'll fly back to Seattle, then fly out the day after that to Paris! 5 nights in Paris, 2 nights in Innsbruck and 3 nights in Venice! We used our miles for the flight (business class) and Marriott points for Paris accommodations right on the Champs Élysées. I can't wait!
