Guestbook help: Vegas sign 21 print

I am using this as my guestbook, stolen idea from here, of course. I know its a popular option, my question is are you taking it to Vegas already framed? or in tube rolled up? If you are taking in tube, what are you using to lay it out and keep it weighed down with?

I would rather not take it in a frame, seems risky and do not want to lug it around.

Thanks all =)

Sounds similar to what I did, yes pic please!  Did you order on etsy?
We had ours rolled up in a tube for travel.  My event coordinator put it on a posterboard on an easel, I think they lightly taped it or used putty because it didn't damage it at all.  They it just rolled up and back in the tube to go home.  Where is your reception?  In suite or at a venue?

Just unpacked it and put it in the frame and it looks awesome!

  • Oh, Starry, I love that! Is it from Etsy? Quite a while back, someone had posted a cool personalized black & white print of the Vegas sign. Their names & wedding date was actually printed on the sign. Then everyone signed it (or maybe she had a white border matte that the guests signed, I can't remember) After the wedding, it was then framed. I googled my brains out, and never found it! I like yours too!

OMG, Starry, that's SLICK!  I'm sad I didn't see it sooner, even though I love our guest "book" (vinyl record).  SO CUTE!

OP, don't remind me how many days out!!  It doesn't even seem real - my head's going to explode.

@starry Your is so cute, it turned out great! I think putty might work!

I bought this of Imagekind.com, its 24x24. I bought silver sharpies to sign with.

@nycheryl Yikes, I know! 22 is nothing, the days are flying by =/

  • @csarah -- I don't know if they used putty for sure, I actually tried to look when it was posted but it was pretty secure and I didn't want to rip it.  It would probably work if you had it laid flat too if needed.

@Super Stew -- yes from Etsy.  She custom created it for me with the vegas sign and our names and date.  I do remember seeing the one you are talking about too.

@ Nycheryl -- its going to flyyyyyy by!  I couldn't believe it was here as it was happening!  Its very surreal.  So excited for you!
  • We did a vintage B&W vegas sign poster, and I had it in the tube.  My WC at Maggiano's put it on a carboard piece and it was laid flat on the table as everyone walked in with the markers next to it so people signed it as they walked it.  I framed it when we got back.

  • Thanks, Starry!  We have a few big things before we get there, but I'm really really excited :)
  • Starry - which etsy user did you get this from? It's just too cute and I love the thought of having the guestbook signed so that you can display it and not have it sit in a box.

    Hi Angie!

The LV sign wasn't something she already had, she designed it for me based on my picture I sent (my avatar photo).  I ordered with with a frame and the frame was really nice. She even sent me a second print in a tube so I wouldn't have to take one out and put back in. Arrived w/in 1 week. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" />
  • Hi Ladies,

I'm also stealing this idea because it's brilliant!  Just wondering if you had a specific pen that you used to have people sign it.  I'm guessing its a sharpie, but we're looking for the right one to work on photo canvas.  Do you guys have an idea of what kind of pen it was?

    Thanks in advance!
