Nevada-Las Vegas

Craigslist??

Hey everybody, I just thought I would have a wee look on craiglist Las Vegas to see what was on there and I found a TON of Dj's, officiants, photographers, bartenders, and videographers.

I have most of that stuff booked already but I am really struggling to find a DJ in budget, and i'm thinking I might have to go the Ipod route. So I wasjust wondering if any of you have booked any of these things through craigslist and if it was good or bad. And if not, what your thoughts were on booking through craigslist?

I didn't book a vendor through Craigslist, but plenty of legit vendors advertise there.  Just be sure to ask for contact info for previous brides and follow up on those references to make sure they're someone you want to book.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

Make sure they are legit.  Do they use written contracts?  Do they have a website?  Of course, contracts can be downloaded and websites can be made by anyone.

The thing about contacting previous brides (for any vendor from any source) is the vendor is only going to refer you to the brides they know had a good experience.  If you ask on the discussion board, you're going to get independent reviews, not ones that the vendor has filtered for you.

Budget weddings are definitely hard!  You can save money by going with a less known vendor, but it's a leap of faith.  How much do you trust someone you just met and no one else has heard of?  I'm asking myself the same questions for my wedding.
