    just responded :)

    we flew in and out of prague and visited venice, florence, rome, and the cinque terra. if you have 10-14 days, you can definitely fit in prague or paris or another city you have always wanted to check out outside of italy.  when my mom and sister went, they decided to stay in italy and were able to visit the northern/central cities, along with the amalfi coast, which is supposed to be breathtaking too.

    oh and liz since you're going to venice, you may want to see an opera at the ancient amphitheatre in verona. it isn't too far from venice.  verona was the setting of romeo and juliet. there are several sites there related to the story.
