Are you other January brides getting mad at the mail box?

Our RSVP by date is in 13 days, so far we have gotten back 29 of the 81 RSVPs. I'm hoping like the 50 that are still missing will be rolling in in the next 13 days but I don't have high hopes. It just makes me so mad that it comes with a self addressed stamped envelope and still it's too much effort for people  to send it back to me.

Not one of FI's groomsmen has even RSVP'd, not my grandpa, or my Aunt. I can kinda understand the co-workers I  invited who I know for sure are not coming but come on my twin brother hasn't even RSVP'd and he already bought his ticket like 2 months ago and he may or may not be bringing his girlfriend, but I don't know though cause he hasn't RSVP'd!

Sorry for the rant its just so frustrating! I hope you other brides are having better luck then me!

You're lucky! Our RSVP by date was yesterday, and I still haven't heard back even from all my bridesmaids!

We get to start calling soon. Any tips on classy ways of reminding people?

Ugh, RSVP's were definitely the sucky part.  There were quite a few people we had to call.  Including my half-sister, who swore up & down that "she wouldn't miss her little sister's wedding for the world," but I have to call her for her to tell me she can't come.

    Sorry, end rant.

@julibopper, not really any recommendations or tips.  I think we just said something like "Hey _____!  We're trying to get the final guest count for the wedding and haven't heard from you, do you think you'll be able to make it?"

You'll find that some people just can't be bothered... especially people who can't make it.  It's like they feel the blow from just not showing up without any response is somehow less disappointing than checking to say that no, they cannot attend.

I had a good high school friend that was going on and on about how they were both looking forward to Vegas.  They moved out of state and I didn't get a new address until I had already sent out the invites.  I figured at that point they probably had a change of heart, but never any RSVP response- instead she told my MOH that she wasn't coming a day or so before and I had to find out from her.  My MOH said she was planning on calling me to wish me congrats on the day of, which I thought was very sweet, but for the life of me I can't understand why she could do that and not mail in a pre-stamped RSVP envelope with a check in the box, lol.

Never mind the other family members my mother offered to flag down for us to get a definite yes or no.

Sorry you guys are going thru this! I'm including the following wording on my RSVPs so hopefully they'll get the message LOL (saw it somewhere on this board):

    [] Gladly attend

    [] Regretfully decline

    [] Regretfully attend

    [] Enthusiastically decline

[] Will decline to respond but will ultimately attend

    That's funny!

My RSVP date is the 19th, and suddenly, in the last few days I have received a whole bunch of 'Yes' RSVPs... I still am missing about 71 people. That's about 40 RSVP cards. They have another week and a half, though.

We invited 65 people....32 people are attending...probably about 8 couples decided not to say anything...

One couple said they were coming and then just found out from someone else they can't be bothered to come...how nice!  :)

I wish people would just send back the RSVP's!! then we would know for sure!!
