    WOW.
She sounds like a real winner.

Dammit!  If I had waited 20 years I could have used my wedding as a fund raiser for the breast reduction I needed.  Oh, wait.  Insurance paid for it.  Because it was, you know, necessary.

    (1) I can't stand people who would pull a stunt like that.
    (2) I don't understand women who want bigger boobs to feed their vanity.

Seeing as you had LARGE breasts and wanted smaller ones, I can understand that you wouldn't get why some women would want implants. I had NO boobs up until 2 years ago when I decided to get surgery. I was tired of bursting in to tears in the change room at Victoria's Secret, tired of having sex with my bra on, tired of not filling out a top. If you have the chance to change something about yourself that you don't like, why not do it? Sure, it's more extreme than fake tanning, fake hair, fake nails, etc, but we ALL alter our appearance to some extent.

    Anyways.

Maybe I'm too chill but I don't see a big problem with this - it's what she (I guess they?) wanted. I always tell friends getting married/having babies/etc, to tell me what they want, so that I *know* I'm getting them something they're going to love/appreciate. It doesn't matter if I think it's right or wrong or silly or whatever - it's what they want. You're going to spend the money anyways - may as well spend it in a way that'll make your friends happy!

But a guest didn't ask her what she wanted. She TOLD her guests to give her money for a boob job. Asking wedding guests to pay for a boob job = tacky.

ETA: this is nothing against boob jobs, bigger or smaller. I'm all for making yourself happy and comfortable. This is about the way she went about it.

Wouldn't requesting money for a boob job be the same as requesting where someone buys your gift (for example - putting your registry info down)? Or, it's the same as writing, "We have toasters and crockpots - help us finance the honeymoon of our dreams!" - which a lot of people do these days. No, guests didn't actually ASK them what they wanted - but most guests sort of expect some guidance. At least where I'm from, they do! :)

I'm just shutting my mouth, because it totally would. So we'll just be done.

    Bored stuff:
My coworkers and I have decided on a new wedding dress for myself and it has kept me occupied all afternoon.

It's from a new show on TLC called "My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding." Look it up on youtube for lots of entertainment. I DVR'd it for tonight.

    Here's my new dress:

But to go back to the original post - I just re-read the article and there's a part that bothers me and makes me feel sorry for her - it said that she became more insecure about herself once she started dating her now husband.  Shouldn't the person you're with make you feel better about yourself?

Okay no need to argue but this is low asking for boobs BECAUSE wedding presents are gifts to the couple to help them built their new homes together. That is why people register for plates, towels, appliances, all things that they need to furnish their new homes. If you want boobs, more power to ya, but be an adult and buy the things you want for yourself on your own.

who wants to go from a D to DD for over $6k?  Buy a wonderbra for $20! geez. sad that this is true and I'm sure a lot of brides actually use their wedding cash for plastic surgery..I guess at least she was honest!
